Test City Five is an experimental community built, operated and maintained by the Hivemind Sentius Network. This experimental city is located within the Hivemind Sentius Network's territory, near its border with the Federated Territories of Vash. It is one of several test communities in operation by the Hivemind.
This experimental city was fully built and maintained by an automatic 3D-printing operating system called the 3D Printer Nanite System. A system that allows for the quick construction and repair of almost any structure, large or small, of any material or complexity. A technology that is far more advanced than anything else found in the Delta Space. The Hivemind Sentius Network has access to numerous technologies that are not accessible to the rest of mapped space, to the chagrin of many, especially other political bodies and MegaCorpos.
The Hivemind Sentius operates Test City Five in a formerly decommissioned space station that the Hivemind Sentius Network claimed and repaired for their own use. The station is a domed model, with its engines and operating systems taking up the lower half of the station, and top half being a large dome in which the city now lives.
Upon its construction, the Hivemind programmed their experimental 3D Printer Nanite System with their desired blueprint of the city, plus additional instructions to repair and maintain after construction was completed. Once deployed, the nanite system went to work and constructed an entire city in the span of a few short weeks. Far faster than should be possible.
Once the city was completed, the Hivemind populated the city with thousands of networked robots, each programmed to go about a simulated routine of life. Working, playing, and doing all everything a normal person would do in their day-to-day. The nanite system has been instructed to continuously repair and maintain the city and its structures as the robots go about their day, and the city is affected by the daily wear and tear of life.
The purpose of this is so that the Hivemind can collect data on the efficiency and long-term ability of the 3D Printer Nanite System over time and real-life stressors. The 3D Printer Nanite System, even to the Hivemind, is a widely untested technology, so the hope is that they will push it to its limits so that they can tweak and perfect it over time.
Much of the purpose of Test City Five, including the purpose of the testing and the finer details of the 3D Printer Nanite System, is unknown to the rest of the Delta Space. However, rumours of Test City Five and the 3D Printer Nanite System have begun to spread. Driving up intense interest in visiting the city and experiencing the workings of the nanite system.
It is of particular interest to all other political bodies of the Delta Space, and of course, its numerous MegaCorpos, as the technology found in the city would revolutionize life in the Delta Space.
However, the Hivemind Sentius Network is highly restrictive of who can travel within its territory. Commonly detaining and sometimes destroying those who illegally travel within their territory. And Test City Five is even more restricted, as it is a highly guarded and sensitive experiment that they wish to keep close to the chest.
So the rumours that have spread to foreign territories are of great concern to them, as it means that someone has illegally visited Test City Five without their knowledge. An oddity that has pushed the Hivemind into an intense investigation, as they have no record of a non-networked entity approaching the station, let alone landing on it.
The Hivemind is extremely cautious and meticulous, able to track and detain anything that enters their space. So, if someone has figured out a way to bypass their security and tracking protocols, that is of great concern to them. And this does not include the dangers of the 3D Printer Nanite System rumours spreading, as this technology is highly valuable.
The Hivemind would prefer not to have to deal with pesky intruders trying to steal their technology, and they do not wish to engage in large-scale battles or war over petty matters. Though the Hivemind believes that if anything were to happen, it would be a covert operation, as outside bodies are too scared of them to press them militarily, as they do not know their full capabilities. As such, the Hivemind Sentius has further tightened its security, and the space around Test City Five is now heavily monitored for illegal intrusions.

Access to Test City Five and details about the nanite system are heavily restricted by the Hivemind, sparking intense interest and concern from other political bodies and corporations in the Delta Space who see its revolutionary potential. Rumours of the city's existence have caused the Hivemind to tighten security and investigate potential breaches of their highly guarded experimental site.
The 3D Printer Nanite System works like a huge, invisible cloud made of tiny robots called nanites. These nanites are like miniature builders that can create almost anything, just like a very advanced 3D printer. When they get a digital plan, they break it down into tiny steps. Then, each nanite works on a specific part, gathering basic elements and putting them together at a super-small level, atom by atom or molecule by molecule. This allows them to build incredibly detailed objects with different materials all woven together. Because there are billions of them working at the same time, they can build huge things, like entire cities, very quickly. They also constantly fix and maintain whatever they build, keeping it in perfect condition.
