Landing on the Final Dorbard

General Summary

The Deadpoint Drift | Vol 6 Issue 3

From the Desk of Jill Cannirunnipelt

It's been sailed around and attempted in the past, but earlier this week explorers Zoligg and Karick Stahland at last breached the shores of the large and mysterious Dorbard North.

Their stay was short, but not without many an interesting sighting. From the hills along the southern coast, they were able to survey a wide swatch of the lands below, and it would seem that we indeed have plentiful neighbours downwind. There are roads, structures and—inexplicably—what appear to be wartime trenches in the eastern swamp regions of the isle. Movement was also spotted, although our adventurers opted to stay in the hills.

Nature served up some curiosities as well, mostly notably the presence of at least one manticore: a cat-like beast with large wings and a spiked tail. It did not bother Zoligg or Karick, but rather watched them from afar. There were also many cave bears in the hills, along the path up to one particular summit. At this peak was a single tree. "Not worth it," remarked Karick, referring to the bear infested journey required to enjoy the tree's shade.

Foxspint's mine still somewhat safe

The pair also revisited the old Nameless Mine. No more spellcasters were found, although a giant constrictor snake still lurked within and had to be dispatched. Karick's been studying up on his Ignan language skills, and was able to further deepen the relationship with the local Steam Mephits that still live in the remote cavern.
