First Hero's Herald (3460)

On 15 Resting Summer, 3460, Deadpoint held its first ever Hero's Herald event.

Turnout from Deadpoint included over 100 citizens, new and old. From nearby Port Tessalad, almost 200 more people showed up between two large clippers tugging several smaller sailing craft.

Schedule of events

  • At 8AM, The Kedge in the Gale Inn & Taphouse held a large breakfast that sprawled out onto the fairgrounds and docks.
  • At 10AM, a sailing show began, with several boats performing coordinated maneuvers around the docks and between the two larger ships from the Port.
  • At noon, on the docks, a memorial was held for fallen Adventurers No Luck Nick and Daverink, with Guidelight Ainsley Sharkbane sharing a few words and awarding the heroes the title of Waterfan Sailblazer posthumously. A moment of silence was observed after the Aquan Vorwash ship Dagger Squall fired an enromous volley of sparkling green lights into the sky, which caught the northern winds and rainbowed high over the gathering.
  • At 12:30PM, the surviving Adventurers were appointed their titles by Graves Nemerlang and given gifts and medals. Afterwards, Graves unveiled a shrouded machine that had been build into the largest Deadpoint pier: a charging station. As he did, Taylor Quikkly sailed the completely rebuilt The Thyme of Your Life around a bend in the island and docked it. The new ship was presented to the Adventurers as a group gift, complete with a new engine, weapon, and hull.
  • At 1PM, the day opened up to general festivities, including competitive sailing, a large marketplace and theatre stage set up on the fairgrounds, and various parties at folks' homes. Potential immigrants from the Port (and as rumour has it, some as far as the mainland) received tours of the town. The merrymaking continued long into the night.

Group Gift: The Thyme of Your Life

At full engine power, the ship can now reach all islands in the Deadpoint vicinity, including Little Dorbard, Dorbard North, The Pinballs and Grainbean.

It is outfitted with a small but powerful turret for defensive purposes.

Please see The Thyme of Your Life article for upgrade specifics and mechanics.
