Haaloct
Haaloct is a cold, cavernous, barren world in the Lightning Ring. Its surface is dry and frigid and empty, and it has many subsurface tunnels that fill its crust. It is home to the Neblin, an intelligent-but-savage humanoid lifeform, and the Hunters, an invisible meat-eating predator.
Haaloct is harsh, cold, and deadly. Aside from the Neblin and the Hunters, it mostly hosts meat-eating pest species and filter feeders. A species of fungus that grows on corpses is used as the Neblin food crop, and grows in abundance anywhere large numbers of creatures live and die. Haaloct can seem empty and devoid of life due to the small size of its life and the stealthiness of its intelligent species, and its many twisting tunnels can confuse an unprepared explorer.

Haaloct's terrain is twisted rock caverns with high humidity and slick ice coating the walls, ceiling, and floors. The occasional frost-resistant fungus can be seen growing here and there. Infrequently, a fissure in the cave ceiling leads to the surface, a barren and dusty hellscape with high winds and sharp mountains. Sinkholes and passageways lead deep into the crust occasionally as well. Deeper caverns are warmer. The deepest caverns have liquid water that collects in pools and lakes.
