Salamander's Ash

Everything in the Forest is made of two things: sparks or ash. While sparks are the still living memories of the Salamanderflame, bursting with potential, the ashes are the corporeal inevitability of the Dark Forest's death. Normally, they aren't all that special. However, dense amounts of it stifle the remaining sparks in the environment, breaking apart the Dark Forest's reality. The Forest will never fill entirely with ash, as its connections to other worlds constantly leaks it. Outside of the Dark Forest, this ash has a banishing effect on its portals, preventing more from being opened and severely damaging any entities from the Dark Forest that may, somehow, have escaped.
