The Cult of Azothia

The Cult of Azothia:   Main Tenet: "The Worthy hear The Call and are burdened with The Great Work to Ascend and Return."   Tenets and Tiers of Discovery: The Call, The Worthy, The Great Work, Ascension, Return.   The Call refers to someone hearing the call of the Far Realm. It could be a beckoning from an outer god/elder god. It could be “acceptance” that this reality is a lie. It serves as the first step after initial recruitment. The Worthy refers to those who have heard the call, accepted it, and now shoulder the burden of the Great Work The Great Work refers to the things one must do in order to open a door to the Far Realm, and Ascend. Ascension refers to leaving behind our reality, venturing into the Far Realm. Return refers to returning into the “correct” reality once the Sleeping God wakes.   The most important of these tenets is The Call. Some entities from The Far Realm like to exert their will on other beings, or on other planes in general. Not everyone who hears The Call becomes a cultist or is an antagonist. Some may have heard it, and run away from it. The Call would be something like an angler fish in the deep ocean. The light is beautiful and enticing, but also horrifying and unsettling the closer you get to it.
