Arrival

Arrival refers to either the moment of entering Teel from another world through a Rift or Sphere , or an individual who has come from another world via these means.

The term is often used pejoratively by natives of Teel.

Arrivals do not belong to a single species, ethnicity, or culture; rather, it is a collective term for all beings drawn from other worlds. The first known arrivals appeared in Teel in 115 aS, with initial sightings reported in the The Black March.

Native Categorization of Arrivals

Before 118 aS, arrivals were generally classified by natives according to perceived intelligence and threat level:

• Lower Intelligence / Beasts / Machines – Arrivals perceived as non-sapient, dangerous, or unable to integrate into society were often labeled as threats or dismissed as pure sources for looting Athem . Many were hunted systematically by the Free City of Teel and a few conservative Juru groups.
• Higher Intelligence / Recognized as Citizens – Arrivals who demonstrate advanced cognition, adaptability, or skills valued by local communities can gain recognition and citizenship rights. Acceptance often remains conditional on the terms of the local communities.
