Memories

Player Characters' Memories of Timber Valley   Growing Up in Timber Valley   The characters over the age of 15 have vivid memories of a time when Timber Valley was a peaceful kingdom where magic was an integral part of everyday life. They recall the enchantment that permeated their surroundings, from magical street lamps to floating gardens and spells that eased daily chores. They remember the benevolent King who ruled with wisdom and compassion. The King’s focus was always on the well-being of his people, fostering a strong sense of community and mutual support. The streets of Timber Valley were bustling with life, filled with markets selling magical goods, schools where children learned both academics and spellcasting, and communal gatherings where stories and songs were shared.   The Takeover   The idyllic life in Timber Valley came to an abrupt end when Queen Industria’s forces began their aggressive takeover. The initial confusion and disbelief quickly turned into fear as mechanized soldiers called the wise started appearing in the streets. The once peaceful kingdom was thrown into chaos. Families were torn apart, and those who resisted were forcibly mechanized or disappeared altogether. The atmosphere of fear was palpable, as Industria’s regime showed no mercy in its quest to control and transform the kingdom. For the player characters, the escape from Timber Valley is a harrowing memory. They recall the frantic rush to gather loved ones and essential belongings, the narrow escapes from patrols, and the heart-wrenching goodbyes to friends and places they cherished.   Life in Hiding   Adaptation The characters had to quickly adapt to a new life in hiding. The dense woods and underground tunnels became their sanctuary, providing both safety and a sense of imprisonment. One of the critical challenges was sustaining their magical heritage. Elders and skilled magic users took on the task of teaching the younger generation and preserving the old ways, all while remaining hidden from Industria’s ever-searching eyes. Despite the hardships, the sense of community endured. The rebellion’s central hub became a place where the characters grew up, formed bonds, and found purpose in resisting Industria’s rule. They witnessed the adults around them working tirelessly to reverse mechanization and protect their magical legacy. The characters spent their formative years training in combat, magic, and survival skills. They learned the importance of secrecy, the value of teamwork, and the necessity of resilience in the face of oppression.   Current Perspective   Now, as adults, the player characters are deeply motivated by their memories of the peaceful Timber Valley and the atrocities they witnessed during the takeover. Their past experiences fuel their determination to fight back against Queen Industria and restore their homeland to its former glory. The shared history of escape and survival has created unbreakable bonds among the characters. They rely on each other not just for support in battle but also for emotional strength and a shared sense of purpose.
