Nayuran
Nayurans are a species of giant bipeds that had their homeworld completely obliterated and population wiped out, save a handful of children who escaped, by a dangerous force long before the rise of civilisation in other worlds. They are natural wielders of a unique form of magic that seemingly doesn't play by the rules of equivalent exchange that regular magic does.
They age incredibly slowly, so even thousands of years later those children who survived are only young adults. Despite that, they have begun to continue the work of those who came before them and have begun slowly cleaning up that dangerous force alongside "Champions", non-Nayurans who have been granted a piece of their power.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Nayurans share a similar basic body layout to humans, only significantly larger. They can, however, shrink down to a size closer to humans, primarily used for the comfort of the smaller species they converse with.
Their bodies are comprised of Hard Fabric, a strange form of matter that is not made of any smaller components. This is assumed to be the reason behind their rejection of normal physics, as its density is uniform, no matter if it is grown or compressed.

Gender Ideals
It appears that they do not have a cultural concept of gender and find discussion of it somewhat confusing.
History
Long ago, before civilisation fully formed on other worlds, the Nayuran homeworld was a successful nation that had grown beyond the space and resources provided by their own world. In response to this, they began cautiously extending beyond their world, setting up a number of settlements close by in the The Dust Sea.
This lasted for a while until their homeworld was destroyed by a cataclysmic force, taking the dust sea settlements and the lives of all but 7 of the species.
The cataclysm was only just prevented from doing any more damage thanks to those who were in the dust sea working together, sealing it away, but being consumed by it in the process.
The 7 who survived, all young children, the eldest at only 12 years old, remained hiding in a shelter left for them for many years.
