Landing cake
Landing cakes are small baked dough balls filled with Bluecurrent and Strand-apple jams, typically sprinkled with sea salt and served still warm from the oven.
History
Shortly after Skyfall Isle fell into the Sea of Ondine, this recipe was developed by one of the early Seafolk using a combination of ingredients that had survived the landing fromtheir previous world and those gathered from neighbouring islands and traded for with with the local merfolk. It is generally considered to be the first recipe created by the Seafolk.
Due to it being very easy to make and it's ingredients being common and accessible, it has remain popular ever since.
Significance
While the cakes are commonly eaten in general, they have gained popularity as a welcome gift of sorts, often served at the beginning of gatherings.
It is also very popular to give them to people visiting the Sea of Ondine for the first time, it is often said that "You have not truly made landfall" until you have eaten one.
