Goblyne
"The hideous and vicious Goblyne doth be a most offensive and difficut Devil. Possessed of foul temper, violent and cruel disposition and lacivious and perverted lust. These Devils spread quickly with enough base material. That material being living flesh, typically so mauled and sexually assaulted as to barely still live. Victims beg for death and that is the best thing for them once the curse is active. Thecursed body starts to grow blobs and distort into Goblyne spawn and lest they be slain quick, even burnt, they arise as a litter of Goblyne." -Record of the Adventurer's Guild Bestiary
The Goblyne is a Preta type Devil that is properly a Fiend that occupies the recently dead. Indeed the curse is activated in the suffering and wounds inflicted and festers, warping flesh and bone until the exact moment of death. As the soul or spirit departs the devil moves in and a Goblyne arises. They are a meter or so tall, with wide mouths of shap teeth, three eyes and long dangling arms with short bowed legs. Genitals are prominenent, exaggerated and usually lewdly displayed as Goblyne wear no clothes, only armors of boiled hide leather, wood or metal. They do not reproduce sexually, though sexual depravity seems part of the curse rituals that create them. They see well in darkness and have cunning but limited (d6) intelligence. The skin is either a flushed red, a morrled green suggesting decay or deathly grey. They possess no hair.
Goblyne eat anything living or dead, plant, animal or fungus that they can chew and bite. They feed gluttonously when there is food, second in priority only to the inflicting the curse that spawns more of their kind. Goblyne have +2 on vitality rolls vs poisons and diseases. They are greedy and collect precious valuables and coins, though they have no use for them. They have no interest in creating anything save weapons, armors and traps. Most possess no magic aside from an abilty to manifest simple obsidian blades. From these they can rapidly produce bows, cut wood and craft other weapons. Goblyne mages do occur and seem to be commanders or leaders. There are also Hobs which are larger, stronger and smarter commanders and generals.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
The Goblyne curse takes as little as perhaps six hours to several days to become active. It seems to come from mortification and injury, torture, degradation, and abuse of the victims. The curse may be broken before it is active but once the body has started to transform it is destiny. Small bodies of Goblyne size produce one or two. Larger uman-like ( Ozymandian, Zarmuran, Aneuin, Merrow, Chaju or half-Ogre) make 4-6. Something the size of a Terresital Dragon may produce a dozen. The can and do fall upon their own to spawn more. Magical summoning, thier own curse ritual and Goblyne Mana stones may bringthem forth, but they have also been found on isolated unclaimed islands and remote locations which causes scholars to wonder if there are spontaneous spawnings.
Growth Rate & Stages
Goblyne arise as near mature and reach full size within hours when they have food. No one knows how long they might live or if they are immortal in the mortal world. Certainly, the Mana stone may be used to summon them or the magic drawn out for other uses. It is presumed Goblyne and other Asura may reform a body around the Mana stone.
