Performing the Ritual

After a harrowing night swinging from despair to passion and finally to determination, Arcadia awakes to find herself alone, her husband Cassius awaking early to begin the final steps in a plan to gain ultimate freedom after over a century of preparations. Arcadia says her final goodbyes to her daughter Cordellia, one of the youngest in their brood, and bequeths upon her a parting gift, before finding the secret passage leading to Cassius' laboratory of runic magic.

Hidden underground, far from the manor that had been their home for decades, was a Hangar containing a large ship made of metal and wood, in the form of a gigantic insect. The hangar had runes inscribed into floors and walls as an instrument and conduit for what Cassius would only describe as 'The Ritual'. Wasting no time, the couple begins activating the High Magics.

The Process changes fundamental aspects of Cassius and Arcadia, utilizing ancient methods originally developed by the High Elves and modified by Cassius utilizing his knowledge of the fundamental language of magic that he developed together with his father, Shane Darkthorn. In the end, the two of them fed the power and experience they had accumulated over their lifetime to rewrite the very fabric of their fates to free themselves from the chains placed upon them by the dieties of the Forgotten Realms and to a means of passage to escape their grasp. A portion of that result was the creation of a pair of spelljamming helms which fused with EVE.

Leaving Toril

After completing the Ritual, Arcadia finds her consciousness somehow connected to the EVE. There, she finds herself and her companions and crew members in orbit above Toril, their homeworld. After exploring a few of the capabilities that were built into the EVE and experimenting with the nature of utilizing the Spelljamming helm, Arcadia set a course and departed out into the Astral Sea, leaving the shadows of Forgotton Realms behind, and taking her first steps on her journey of freedom.
