Jade Fury
The Jade Fury is an airship constructed for use by the Teeth of the Wind and designed by reclusive genius Jadeira, a djinn engineer based in Auria.
The Fury was designed to safely move people and objects in and out of Ignia. Its primary purpose is to rescue captives from the Ignian slave market, but it can also be used to capture enemy technology and POWs, which could be used to leverage more rescues.
Power Generation
The Fury operates from an elemental core in the lowest hold of the ship. This technology relies on the cooperation of a powerful air elemental, whose activities decrease the gravity of the vessel, allowing it to float.
Propulsion
The Fury sports six air jets for basic propulsion, with two wide-mouth jets mounted at the stern and beneath the prow, and two smaller, round-mouth jets built into each side. These jets can be manipulated in their power and direction from the wheelhouse.
Weapons & Armament
The Fury is equipped with four deck cannons and three ballistae, but is not equipped for offensive missions. It is intended to be guarded by a fleet of more maneuverable, heavily-armed vessels, and has docking space for three large skiffs which can more easily land in hostile zones.
Armor and defense
The ship's hull is armored in plated steel that is scraped to a matte finish. The entire hull and every deck of the Fury is warded against teleportation, and the hold is airtight.
A large set of bay doors stands at the back of the vessel on the cargo deck, and could be considered a dangerously direct entry point, but this too is protected both physically and magically. The doors themselves are solid metal one feet thick, and are warded from the inside against any magic that would move, transform, or damage them. The metal itself is also magically heatproof. The door opens only from within, and when viewed from outwith, is indistinguishable from the rest of the hull.
On a vessel made for capture and rescue missions, the idea of an inside man was heavy on the mind of the designer. Therefore in addition to the usual traps and sturdy locks, the crew use a daily password system, and the screening process for a comission on this vessel is more rigorous than usual.
