Drowned Walker
Distinguishable from ordinary sailors only by their pale eyes and slightly longer teeth and nails, Drowned Walkers seek to lead the living to the place where they met their watery fates.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Drowned Walkers resemble their humanoid selves in life, including the clothes they were wearing when they died, though like any corporeal being they can change these.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Like most undead, Drowned Walkers do not need to eat or drink. They sustain their presence among the living by feeding on the life force of living beings, sapping it from them with a touch.
Behaviour
Drowned Walkers imitate living sailors and seek to lead the living to the site of their deaths. Their purpose in doing so varies; many envy the living and seek to drag them to the depths to share their fate. Others resent their deaths and seek help moving on. Even a Drowned Walker with this second motive, however, has only violent tools to forward it.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Drowned Walkers have a natural and passive illusion that makes them look (mostly) like ordinary sailors. Detection magic and some innate abilities can see through the facade to the rotting corpse behind it.
