Aerdrie Faenya
An Elven deity of wind and flight, and the creator of Avariel, Aerdrie Faenya is the lady of winged creatures and rules over the spontaneity of wind and weather.

Broadly described as a deity of air, wind, and flighted creatures, Aerdrie Faenya shares all of these general dominions with Akadi. As the two enjoy a sunny relationship with one another, it seldom causes conflict when followers conflate their similar portfolios, but distinction exists all the same.
Aerdrie Faenya is the mother of Avariel, and takes under her domain all creatures that fly on the wing, while other flying creatures are more directly Akadi's affair.
Similarly, while Aerdrie Faenya and Akadi are both deities of air and wind, Aerdrie Faenya's domains represent the chaotic tendencies of her Seladrine heritage, and embody the element's changeability.

Aerdrie's calling card is a blue feather of unusual size and brightness. Her favoured animals are tressyms as well as every kind of flighted bird. Not being a deity of war, she does not have a favoured weapon.

Aerdrie observes the vernal and autumnal equinoxes with delight, getting to know the new season's winds as they blow in via an aerial ballet.

Aerdrie's primary mission in the material Realms is the care and well-being of winged creatures, most notably avariel. However, she accepts many Aaracokra under her proverbial wing as well, not to mention winged beasts and monsters.
While she takes joy in the spontaneity of wind and weather, Aerdrie does not claim dominion over weather except as a tool of playful chaos.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Aerdrie most commonly appears as an avariel with wings of deep azure plumage. Her eyes are bright and sharp and the blue of an open sky. Her smile is quick and her laugh quicker. Perhaps because of her chaotic elfin nature, she often appears as a carefree youth, taking pleasure in the startlement that revealing her true nature brings out in material beings.
In her Avariel form, she prefers clothing that emphasizes free movement and can eddy in the winds, and often features feathers as a motif. Unless travelling incognito, she usually wears a laurel of many-coloured feathers.
Though less common, Aerdrie is also known to take the form of a huge white bird with azure flight feathers.

Like all elven deities, Aerdrie considers the other members of the Seladrine as family, if not in the biological, literal sense. She has a friendly relationship with Corellon Larethian, but doesn't have the time of day for Lolth or her 'dark Seladrine,' with the exception of Eilistraee.
Owing to the overlap in their portfolios over flighted creatures, she often works cooperatively with Syranita, and the two live together in a shared divine realm called the Aerie.
As a fellow deity of air and wind, she enjoys a friendly, cooperative relationship with Akadi, and hey both share a kinship and connection to the Primordials of their element.
