Life Stones

Life Stones are used to preserve life in the most inhospitable environments. They are typically formed and used in a set of three. Their sizes and areas of effect can vary significantly, and there are times they are used seperate from each other. The smallest versions are designed to allow individual adapatation to an environment, while large ones are used for large communities.
The Air Stone cleans the air, making it breathable. In deep water, stone or the void this is essential to survival. In some cases they are linked with other realms to draw fresh air to an area.
The Pleasant Stone manages temperature and make it so cold or warm environments are survivable. How well they work depends on the environment they are in, as well as how large they are. The affected area can be reasonably large and very clear that something has changed when entering it range.
The Light Stone provides I powerful simulation of the sun. Most basic light magic only creates limited spectrum light or for a small area. The Light stone provides full spectrum and projects it to a ceiling so that it is an all around light source instead of a point light source. As such it has all the properties of a regular sun. It also waxes and wanes in typical daily fashion, providing a day and night cycle.
Togeather they are often installed in buildings, amulets or even ships. The traditional ordering is to have the Light stone on top, followed by the Air stone, then the Pleasant Stone on bottom.
Occasionaly a fourth stone is added. Sometimes this is the Shield Stone, used in the void to prevent air from escaping away from a ship. It can also be used to prevent deep sea pressure as well. Other times it is a Land stone which allows for the establishment of a "gravity" field where one doensn't exist. Other times Water stones pull water from another location to the stone. It allows many places that need water to have some. Most bring along the bacteria and micoalgae. This is espeically beneficial as it brings in nutrients used by plants and animals to places that might not already have an abundace of nutrients. Some are marginally potable, and may contain pathogens or require filtration, others bring fresh and clean water.
They are also known as Trifold Stones, or Stones of Survival.
