Draconic
Dragons have their own language, which makes sense as their mouths are quite different from most sentient species. However many creatures speak a varient of the language more adapted to common vocal capabilities. Dragons wishing to interact with other species will use this lower draconic version of the language.
Writing System
High and Low Draconic both use the same writing. It is logographic using symbols for words and phrases. Various forms are used, their is claw script, brush script, and chisel script. These three are similar to a writing system that uses italics or bolding for emphasis or artistic appearance. There are approximately 70,000 characters, and some are obscure, so even dragons will consult dictionaries when dealing with older or more remote texts. These dictionaries have been found in cave walls, massive tomes, or in mirror books.
Syntax
Sentence structure is loose, but designated by a terminal glyph. These terminal glyphs vary over time or even personal preference of the dragon or scribe. Terminal glyphs include; the stop, the question, the demand, the inverted, and the truth.
Vocabulary
Much of Draconic vocabulary is found in other languages. Phrases also tend to have found themselves strangely persistent in other languages. Due to long rule in the first and second dragon imperiums many ancient documents are written in draconic. It is less floral and more precise than some other languages, making it good for writing legal documents and other precise documentation.
