Chivom

Chivom is a logographic script. It is commonly used by Dwarves, Gnomes, Halflings and Dragons.

Writing System

It is a complex set of characters with several thousand needed for standard literacy. Varients cover multiple languages, and they are not always the same. The same symbol is pronounced differently in different languages, and the order can vary based on the verbal construct of the languages. So the same written sentace may mean something slightly different depending on the readers language. This isn't usually enough to completely destroy the meaning.
The symbols are constructed with several sub symbol structures known as radicals. It is beleived the symbols began with dragons trying to prevent lesser races from reading due to the complexity of the system.

Geographical Distribution

Widely distributed, with sub-styles and vocabularies that vary by language and use. Wizards find it convenient to encode their writings and notes due to the complexity and nuance it provides.
Halflings and gnomes can often mix Chivom with the Sedon Sylabary, espeically as a means for helping children learn.
