Twinkle the Clown

Twinkle the Clown (a.k.a. The Mute Clown)

"Hi! I'm Twinkle, a performing name I've only recently picked up. I'm hoping it sticks.   I work for Madam Juno, and I couldn't be more grateful. She's given me a safe haven in these troubled times. It's not easy to be a Fey in some places, although the clown costume helps."

    Personal history

Twinkle was born, like Fey, a loyalist to the Court. They grew up, per tradition, within a small witch dig. While not a popular kid by any means (even having horror stories of being called Twinkle the Tinkler), Caia passed by relatively under the radar. During their formative years Caia developed a growing curiosity for magic and the unseen. Unlike the other kids, Caia seemingly was able to dream. They loved sleep more than the awake world, as they saw unimaginable realities and endless possibilities. What ultimately awoke Caia’s interest was a run-in with a Greywood mage, using the Edict. Meant as an attack on the Witch Dig, was quickly nullified by the Matron. Still, being connected to the Dreaming, Caia sensed some of the magic the mage used and was forever curious about it.
When reaching adulthood, the Matron of Caia’s Witch Dig recommended Caia to be taught the art of Magic within the Academic Grounds.

While completing their beginning studies of magic, Caia started forming an unorthodox interest in the human magic practices. While they couldn’t wrap their head around it, their research quickly garnered disapproval from both their teacher, and more importantly, their peers. The year’s star student, Erta the Enchanting, was incredibly fond of conservative Fey views, and considered the Silent Tongue and the Pact (the Fey way) the only acceptable practice. Erta and Caia, safe to say, were at odds the entirety of their shared time. Erta would make it their personal mission to undermine Caia’s any attempt at suggesting the research of human magic practices.

As any other Konsearnan student, the Spectacle was a large focus for Caia’s teachings. For Caia, they were taking part in one of the biggest branches - the Magic Spectacle. Of course, being very early on in their training, Caia wasn’t expecting a large reception. As such, they dared to be creative - intending to subtly use teachings of the Edict they once felt - for their presentation. What they hadn’t expected was the danger it would bring. Nor the attention of the Mad King. (Although, to this day Caia sometimes has thoughts of possible interference).
It is the one thing Twinkle refuses to speak about.

Suddenly being unable to produce sounds and with a broken crown, Caia was obviously shunned from the teachings of magic. The next months floated somewhat in a depressing blur. Seeming a traitor at first glance, due to the broken crown, Caia had to travel somewhat unnoticed through the Thicket. What uplifted their spirits in these times was meeting the Songbirds. During their time with the politically charged group, Caia’s loyalty to the Court quickly soured. Learning and sharing the Songbirds views, Caia grew to resent the degree of surveillance within Konsearna.

This is what ultimately inspired Caia to leave for good. With their target on the human nations (having heard rumours of Geld’s hospitality), Caia took their first unsure but independent steps. Finally reaching the northern border between Konsearna and the Iron Banks, through the hidden smuggling routes, Caia was quite lost. Obviously unwelcome within the Iron Banks, Caia hid within robes and dirty alleys. What ultimately drew them out of hiding was a poster for one Madam Juno’s Travelling Carnaval.

Caia had of course heard of, and even seen some, circus performances within the Thicket. But this felt different. This was free in a way Caia was foreign too. They weren’t affiliated with any nation or faction. Sure, while some of them were in disguise, Caia still recognised some Fey within the circus folk. Caia hid within a corner, with a stolen ticket, and watched the Carnaval in awe. What caught them off guard, was the clown performance. A Miss Bell was introduced to the crowd, and for the first time in ages Caia could simply not help but laugh. She was a riot. Caia returned every night the Carnaval was in town.

As the Carnaval was packing up on its last day, Caia snuck in through the tents. Being soundless sometimes had its perks. With nothing to lose, Caia snuck into what they thought was Madam Juno’s tent. Within the fabric walls, they didn’t get very far before being addressed by a smooth voice.

This came to be a turning point in Twinkle’s life. Surprisingly, Madam Juno let them stay. Even going so far as to convince Miss Bell to take them on as an apprentice. After just a couple of weeks, Madam Juno graciously gifted Twinkle a familiar for communication purposes. Now Twinkle performs with Miss Bell, recently even taking some solo numbers, for the Carnaval. They don’t think they’ve ever been happier.

    Gender Identity

Gender is one of the few things Twinkle doesn't understand in the other races. Fey are born genderless and as such Twinkle doesn't relate to any strong binary.

    Sexuality

As most Fey, Twinkle is both Asexual and Aromantic.

    Education

Besides the basic education afforded to most Fey in reading and writing, Twinkle's education centered around the foundations of spellcasting. This process was cut short of course.

Twinkle learnt clowning from the older clown also employed in the Carnaval. While they're still fairly new to the trade, they enjoy it immensely.

    Employment

Twinkle works exclusively under Madam Juno's employment.

    Intellectual Characteristics

Twinkle was never astoundingly bright. By Fey standards they were considered a bit slow of mind and not as witty as the rest. They would struggle especially with enchantment magic as twisting their words never came as naturally.

    Morality & Philosophy

After living with the Songbirds for a couple of months, Twinkle's opinion on the Court of Daggers and surveillance systems in general grew negative. They came to hate the war and the agenda that the Court pushes. They wish the war would end and that peace would be found.

As a personal belief, they think information should be free and should be spread by as many as possible, not just a centralized seat of power.

    Taboos

Twinkle both fears and loathes the halo of the Court of Daggers.

Weirdly enough Twinkle has picked up some human mysticism belief's from their clown mentor. "Bad luck is a thing to be avoided"

    Personality Characteristics

    Motivation

A want to spread freedom, help keep people aware of what their system of power might be doing.

    Savvies & Ineptitudes

Getting good at juggling! Still struggling a bit with balancing on their toes because of their large feet.

Acrobatic movements based around jumps are great though, but slow tricks are difficult.

    Likes & Dislikes

Huge interest in what Twinkle calls Human Oddities ™. It's all things they believe only humans in their creative freedom could've created. Like pet rocks. Pet rocks fascinate them.

Oppressive government systems. Sour candies. Soups without anything to chew-able in them.

    Virtues & Personality perks

Twinkle's virtues consist of a new-found open-mindedness and a persistent curiosity about humanity. After joining the circus they have also decided to appreciate anything that can bring about laughter.
This has led to Twinkle being quite a popular entertainer for the younger audiences.

Twinkle is incredibly grateful to the Carnaval, and in turn very loyal to Madam Juno and all the other people within the circus.

    Vices & Personality flaws

What will be Twinkle's greatest flaw is their weak will. They believe starkly in some limitations, which will keep them from really pushing their skills.

A left-over from their Konsearnan upbringing, is their guilty need to show-off. While slowly learning to work better in a team, they find immense pleasure in performing well or besting an opponent. This sometimes is a handicap for Twinkle, as they can grow sour from a weak crowd response.

Due to the limited alone travel, Twinkle lacks confidence in their skills independently. While within the Carnaval they feel secure, they struggled performing alone at the start.

    Personality Quirks

Due to their muteness, Twinkle has picked up the habit of exaggerated gesturing.

To the misfortune of their companions, Twinkle has started chewing their food with their mouth open since it doesn't produce any sound.

    Hygiene

Twinkle does still have notions of appearance instilled in them from living with the Fey for so long. It's incredibly important to them that they appear clean, but even more so that their clown suit is impeccable. They will panic over every single stain and tear.

They also like a perfect skin (fur? their skin is a bit odd) and make sure to preen themself any chance they get.

    Social

    Contacts & Relations

    Madam Juno - Employer
Twinkle looks up to Madam Juno and considers themself indebted because of both being offered a place in the circus and the gift of the familiar. Twinkle is also incredibly curious about Madam Juno as she so rarely shows herself.

Arleen Bell (Bell Chime) - Clown Mentor
Miss Bell is the older clown whose performance originally dazzled Twinkle. After pestering Miss Bell enough, Twinkle finally got her to agree to teach them the tools of the clown trade. While Miss Bell was a bit skeptical about Twinkle's Fey nature and mute condition, they eventually warmed up to each other.

    Family Ties

The common human family dynamics don't apply to Fey, so Twinkle, when asked, will always reply the circus.

    Religious Views

After having practically worshiped the Court of Daggers, Twinkle is wary of following another idol. They understand the comfort found in belief though and does not judge most religions or causes.

    Social Aptitude

In a round about way, sometimes Twinkle is a bit grateful to being mute as it gives a perfect excuse to not partake in conversations. Unlike most skilled Fey, they lack the "silver tongue" charm. Their weakness is strongest in forms of indirect lying, which most of the time the mask covers up.

    Mannerisms

After becoming mute, Twinkle relies heavily on body gestures to emphasize their points.

    Hobbies & Pets

Twinkle has a familiar that Madam Juno gifted to them, that has the ability to speak. Intended as a communication aid for Twinkle, the familiar has instead become very sassy and is not always accurate in it's translations of Twinkle's intentions.

Twinkle also has a collection of pet rocks, in their hoard of Human Odd Things™. While they don't fully understand them, they do leave snacks out sometimes (which the familiar always eat in secret.)

    Speech

Before the accident, Twinkle used to have a very light bubbly voice, feminine by human standards. Now not a single sound can pass through their lips.

    Wealth & Financial state

Twinkle is famously bad at keeping their money in check. Whenever the next paycheck comes through, it will be gone by the time they leave whatever city they're in. In turn, Twinkle's ever-growing collection of human oddities grows. They simply find them fascinating.

A simple clown from the Thicket, who left because of their inability to speak. Once a fledgling spellcaster, now enjoys humoring crowds with their performances. With them, you will always see their familiar following them.

Used to own a business in Bren. Wants a less stressful job. Nose is blotchy and red, might have a drinking problem. New bookkeeper   Got Acoustics, Lighting and Weavers, Maksym, Otily equipment Sent Jolly Baddock out to scout.   Training with Wild Owen 14gp 4 sp   Arkill! Aquaducts, 4 districts Fields, upper areas, crying market, arekn wall   Madam Juno's seemed tired the past few days (day of arriving to Arkill)   Water leaks from the aquaducts above - hence Crying Market Small boats use the aquaducts Wealthier town   Inn we're staying in The two crabs Lydolf - Crab Man Lofstan - other crab man (tavern side) Brine smell from underneath Comes from the sea of dreams water   Blue Rooms Everwater evokes hallucinations and eventually mutations Mutations are apparently quite painful and can be debilitating.   Madam Juno's not been sleeping well recently. Expected it with coming closer to Arkill. 'Does not wish to burden Deaglan with it' She speaks of the False Gods When god fell, it broke into two - Verve and Ichor Powerful entities, more powerful than the Court of Daggers. Not quite conscious / lucid. Could be equated to animals. Two of them here? False gods of Dreams (in sea of Dreams) and false god of Madness is somewhere nearby. False God of Madness has been visiting Madam Juno in her dreams. She hopes to seek help within the cathedral. Plans to visit on the second day (tmrw). Not the reason that she has brought the circus here.   Bars (atleast two crabs) dont stop you from bringing your own. They aren't allowed to export it outside Arkill. Luziren Academy gain their magic from Everwater. Impure water gives you mutations.   The briney smell in the tavern is from the zoinked guy at the table   Something's wrong with the Madam   A creature of pure sublime light outside Madam's room It's holiness, all-powerful "Madness embodied"   Air of familiarity   Madam sleeps with her mask on.

    Session 11

Hagslayers were part of the defense Attacks from North, and West. Western wall breached and large damage.   Only 1 Hagslayer within the Town hall's wounded. Might be more at the Fred's house.   Worse than expected on Yeffield's end. Militia fared well. The Hagslayers were less succesful. About half perished, Raniero lives, fought well. Gonya died (Kiggan's sister). Diedrich has not been seen? Deter died, Cecilia hurt.   Otto Wickten had been housing a lot of thralls. Treachery became true. The side that breached town. Otto fled.   Killing Ahletta didn't stop the thralls. Yeffield's fighting lasted until the morning.   Madam Juno is planning to stay for another 5 ish days. Wants to do one last circus performance.   Curate just says "no, no he's not about." abt D Oh he fully dead. Wanted to help with Otto's raid. Helped a lot. Did not come back. Where's Otto's wife at?   Raniero's room Slightly hurt, wearing common clothes. Messy room with various backpacks and satchels. Seems to be packing. Fought alongside Maksym. Wanted our glory of the Ruins? Claims to just want to calm He didn't mean to lie in this specific scenario   Did Raniero plant the thralls? Stage Otto's demise? Raniero wasn't there, only heard from Cecilia.   Planning to leave as half the Hagslayers are dead. Will leave the rest behind. Tension this time, only felt by Deaglan. Talking within the room again, no responding voice. "Uhm yea no, they seemed nice neough. No, idk what they wanted from me. No yea I hope to see Twinkle's performance, they were nice." "No it shouldn't matter if we stay that much longer. Oh it's only a couple days. Ah come on. Its fine. Ecactly, and I mean well, how long it'll take Cecilia to pay. Perhaps it will line up nicely. I'd like to go see it, you can stay here for all I care."   Wild Owen is very hurt. Maksym has a full arm in a splint.   Maksym considers a Raniero a better fighter. Scawy. Fought against what he thinks to be Varban. Raniero killed it. "He's very strong".   Hense is very injured on her torso. Doesn't feel too bad abt the Hagslayers.   Orest feels off during her performance. She misses a shot, which never happens.   Raniero's room: Deaglan leaves a small trace from lock-picking Lots of books and papers in the room Documents, papers, undeniable trend of notes written by him, or by others regarding the nature of magic. One of the books, recent, his notes on all sorts of experiments on the thralls from the Red Ruins. They have been imbued with magic and a somehwat mind, can act autonomosly. Magic only disperses once the strain of animating their bodies becomes too intense. Other types of necromantic magic notes. Notes of keeping someone alive past the brink of death. Faint humming still in the room, even with Raniero absent. 1200 gp in savings within Raniero's room.   For years, Madam Juno considered The Court the greatest Evil. "A mockery of the natural order". For decades she has tried fighting against it.

    Session 10

Something about the Warden screams for reverance. It wants worhsip. Even Madam Juno doesnt know what "they" are. It is quite secretive. She guesses that the Warden (whatever it was before), feasted during the Godfall. This is somewhat odd, due to the Golden Tapestry only appearing recently. "Perhaps the authority they wield is a misguidance on the Gellians part" - Madam Juno (paraphrased)   Amulets go from "fleshy" and unnatural feeling, to life-like and somewhat beautiful.   Cecilia Hense thinks highly of Raniero. Charm? Magic? Why does he so strongly want to speak to Madam Juno? Hoping to 'charm' her too?   Jolly Baddock doesn't respect "silver-tongued" men.   The Broods - The moons Tmrw the elder moon will be new moon Luthaise and Isidora's tents are still left at camp. Luthaise, bloodied and beaten, stands over a thrall. Gun in hand and heaving. Pale look in his eyes, sickly gray eyes. Some disease?   Jolly Baddock asks Deaglán if he had seen 'this' before. Some type of state?   The thralls came for the tents at night. Isidora slept in her tent during the night. Murk reminds Luthaise of a man back home, Harvester?   Luthais not uncommon of a name in Peacekeepers. Diedrich mentioned a Luthais having passed a while ago.   Thralls were looking for more bodies. They like to take people, but never as aggressively as now. In the morning they walk up the hill with the cropses. All others are dead or taken. 6 people in total, Isidora and Luthais included. 4 recent drifters, eastern Geld.   Whatever Pale sickness Luthais is suffering, leaves him confused. Unable to remember things and to gauge distances accurately.

    Session 9

"It was if every creature felt her power [madam juno]" Murk protected her for 6 days in the forest.   Madam Juno and Murk awaiting Krag and Twinkle at Hense's estate Raniero also at meeting, next to Cecilia. Deter, runs the militia in town. Also present at meeting.   Raniero slightly dressed up. Ornamental shell necklace.   Ruin creatures are planning to raid the town the day after the meeting.   Warden's power is not stable - waxes and wanes with the moon. Creature in the ruins is planning to attack during a new moon, when the warden is at his weakest.   Hense is aware of Wickten's and Diedrich's disapproval   The Minddar is attacking Yeffield as it's the upper limit of it's abilities. "Ambition is the Court's flaw"   Amulet, fleshy effigy, black eye (looks like Warden's eye but smaller), held by white feathers (rose-like with eye center) Madam takes this out Will connect you to the Warden It was afraid, and with the state of the moon it is even more afraid It does not wish to take part in the affairs, self preservation Will not move it's physical body Amulets acting as conduits for wearers, connects to Warden We only need to knock one of it's minds unconscious. Warden will be able to communicate with it in the Dream, and hopefully slay it.   Raniero often goes to the Red Ruins Raniero claimed to be at Lumeport Raniero playing both sides?? Claiming to send all his mercenaries to the Red Ruins to deal with the brutes   Otto is spiteful towards Raniero   Krag asking abt the snake that the Warden warned about. Diedrich chooses not to accompany Krag in his dream to ask the Warden. Dream takes place in the church, different weather.   Human eyes in the snake, eyes Krag has seen before. Glancing over their shoulder bousyerisly Eyes of a man rallying a crowd. Otto Wickten. Bird kills the snake. We should kill Otto?

    Session 8

Sallowblood (Fey Blood) Wretched Blood (Wretch)   Pure Ichor is more of a relic, cannot be found   Travelled through the ground into stone coffin? Sarcophagus? Half a dozen coffins Thralls moving around Stuffing the coffins with corpses   Luthaise was cleaning a sniper rifle   20 gp for Murk   Circus seems tense and tired after the days gone Jolly Baddock smells of sweat and Pink Orchid It's not been the best while away Attacks by the thralls have gotten more intense Cecilia started posting militia along farmsteads But she's spread thin. Many have died. Hagslayers have been helping, but Raniero is still missing. Townsfolk havent been agreeing with the Hagslayers. A dozen farmers tried to assault the Fred's house. The corpses were taken by thralls. WHAT'S RANIERO'S PART, furthering problems to make sure there's jobs?   Noetker and Ida, new circus members. Noetker working under Maksym (security) Ida is training under the acrobats. Deoglán showed interest in joining, staying at Riverboat. Griseke, drifter and very capable fighter, needs help. Getting visions. Does not like religion.   Deoglan is a former peacekeeper   There were still attacks yesterday Deoglan not fuck with priests? Very war keen Used to be religious Came straight from the Santum to the circus? Came to find the circus? "you wouldn't know it", mountains far away - when asked where he's from   The presence in the ruins is still there   Luthaise (Diedrich knows him) Peacekeeper for sure Townsguard waiting outside church. "Cecilia Hense wishes to speak to the two of you"

    Session 5-7

Merrymere, something something Other provinces under Cecilia's govern     The Wretch reach even Varban's house. Varban hasn't been there in a long time.   An evil Fey creature controlling these creatures, a foul stench around that area. Unnatural stuff   Maddened Blood for Ghosts (18 gp/v) Concentrated scarlet leprosy against Verve (14 gp/v) Alchemist's Fire Warden's Holy Water, maybe useful against some Fey creatures, potentially other things   Drifter's Stop Shop in Yeffield Run by Clar, Agnes and Greta   Holy symbol - Medicus (flower symbols) [3 gp] Warden symbols [20 gp]   Something feels sligthly wrong, with Madam Juno gone and us leaving tmrw. A gap will be felt.     Raniero is back for another night of circus   Adventuring stall ladies and Drifters are at the Circus   Kiggan is Ironil security guy Gonya another Ironil security worker Saw Murk running off? Closer to the old road, not town, direction. Wearing backpack and stuff Piece of paper at his bedroll - "Madam Juno emergency, don't follow"   Draftsman Pascal Varban knows him well, was a fisher at the start   3 tents and a couple of campfires at the ruins campsite - Fey covered in chitinous armour (troll) - Moku - Short human (Oarsmen), rapier and buckler - Isidora - Older human, no weapons (possibly Gellian) - not with the other two - Luthaise   Ruins have gotten more dangerous recently Minddar, probably controlling them, due to the scale and amount of thralls. Thralls also indicate physical fear. Go any deeper and there's not any more thralls, only seemingly on the first few layers. Deep enough, there's something lurking around there Something gargantuan, "hundred mouths and hands"   Isidora's brother is still down there, offers to show the way down to the "thing", in return for helping her with her brother. Brother was a mage, studied in Blumoor Pushed himself a bit too hard, lost himself in his pursuit for magic. Isidora wants to put him out of his misery.   Pale Water - Silent Isles Helps against dead things, not necessarily spirits but skeletons   Isidora locked in her brother, as the door is somewhat the entrance to the "real" Red Ruins   Used a plant to reinvigorate a dead soldier.   Fork - right (Marked with chalk) Fork - middle (Marked with chalk) 2h route Reach the door Leads to the cellar of the Ruins   Bloodsplatters and dirty footprints around the door, Varban imagines it's Isadora's group. Warm light beyond the locked door.   "You have made it far, they are impressed."   Enchanted lumberjack's axe would be good against big tree skeleton   Minddar Tend to gravitate towards spellhood Rare, whatever flaws they have are closely guarded secrets Two or more minds is not always correlated with extra appendages Make sure to look for the 'other' minds Physically often not as capable   Luthaise lowk rocking guns High perception, clocked my speech Wakes up earlier than the others   Lifeless after reaching ravine. Isidora guesses it's due to the Fey or monster hunting anything alive. Unusual to be fully lifeless   Isidora encountered the chattering mass at a bridge   A flickering source of light 200ft away, doorframe > old living quarters or jail cell Who had set up camp here? One set of heavy boots - footsteps A man, looks like a squatter, is a Drifter. Underneath dusty cloak, weapons and vials Knotted and twisted, fat and ulcerated face. Weapon - Sickle Something grotesque writhes underneath his cloak Long life spent consuming Ichor. Been in the caves for 3 days Karston Rombert - Gellian name Here to study/research Studies Alchemy, Hemotology, Blood, Stuff of Gods Wears no tunic underneath cloak, lungs look like theyre right underneath the skin. Bloat and writhe visibly.   The Monster is a Guard Unknown for what   Fey Blood is used as Ichor Will have it's own set of nasty side effects, Not really used in Greywood due to societal reasons.   Shortsword worth abt 10 gp Composite Shortbow + 10 arrows Lesser Healing Potion Studded Leather Armor - Deep reddish tint (makes you want to stay away from the corpse) Lesser darkvision elixir 4 giant centipede venoms and 3 lethargy poisons. A thick fur bedroll but motheaten   Sat on the throne is a pristine skeleton. Polished and bleached bones.   "Heed my warning I am an avatar of Aleta Stitcher fo flesh I am their child Guard at their treshold. To know me is to know their whole"

    Session 4

Otto Wickten, head of the family in charge of distillery Holding speeches in the town square, anti-hasglayer Religious Consel Wickten, fucking priest Diedrich Rumours heard from Ms. Bell   Wild Owen is nervous about Jolly Baddock He seems tense, a bit on edge   Kiggan, trusted security member of the circus standing close to a group of Hagslayers About 5, with Raniero. Raniero slams the guy who shouts 'Wretch' after Murk's performance     The tingling got more extreme as I shook his hand. When Raniero stepped into the tent at the end, the same humming (faint) was felt in the air   Raniero wanted to talk abt the circus and Madam Juno Eager to know when Madam was coming back How capable our guards are Try to find out what Raniero wants What he wants with the Madam   Pink Orchid flower, relaxing effect when smoking Smoked in the second floor of the Riverboat   The Adventurers aren't actually from Yeffield, just heard the Red Ruins hadn't been fully looted yet. Only been around for a couple months. "They're like any ruins" Mostly spirits, some ichor - fiends (zombie-like creatures, people who have gone mad from ichor usage) Mages will buy spirits Anything with Ichor will sell Adventurers might head to Lumeport to sell, better business there Occasional wretch, handful of living plants (maybe Fey creations) Spirits can be warded off with maddened items Ruins haven't been good for the adventurers recently. There hasn't been much in them lately, spirits been drying up, the missing people dont reappear Couple adventuring parties ended up just joining the Fishermen. Some undead skeletal figures, the Verve inside them seem to disappear when killed. A bit more intellectual than most fiends there. Lumosek (very Greywoot name), apparently he ventured too into the ruins. Only one to survive from a 7 man party. Bit off in the head. Went far into the ruins. Huge Ichor beastial arm. Adventurers going on another run in a couple days. Townsfolk talking abt fights, rumour about the circus fighting with the Hagslayers.   Kettlin, silvered hands: Part of the trainees in Greywood. "Wasn't for her". Wasn't allowed to leave with her knowledge. Greywood recruit "way too young".   Lubosek Whatever's deeper in the Ruins, stay out In fact just get out of town. Leaving town tomorrow for Lumeport Think the Hagslayers do fuck all If anything comes too close to town, they supposedly take care of it.   Cecilia opinions Understand the necessity of employing the Hagslayers to help with the wretch. Otto might be a better fit according to some, someone more pious.   Raniero rumours from the Riverboat Outside talk with tall and broad aventurer Elma, bloodshot left eye (ichor?) Not seen Raniero ever fight, apparently he's not around much. Hagslayer took insult about mean talk abt Raniero He disappears for abt a week at a time. - Going with the church? - Taking a boat heading north to the ruins? - Nothing within a week's travel time north Otto Wickten is definitely rich Cheating rumour spread by the Hagslayers possibly?   There is a snake in this town, trust not the one who's love is false Stork from Krag's dream   Mister Varban, 'Old Varban', Adventurer/Mage figure Been taking a look at the ruins   Jolly Baddock has seemed tense lately. Especially after shouting at the security person. Seemed shaken after opening the circus last night.

    Session 3

A group of adventurers who were in the Red Ruins that day (19th) Scrappy armors, talismans and trinkets Extreme proportions and warped forms because of Ichor usage.   Another table of 4 adventurers, all human (presumably Geld) Blond tall spindly guy - cloaked Short woman - big brawny (ichor) Guy with black hair Old cloaked man No common sigil or emblem   3 people willing to work, 5 gp to be paid to each Gellian man Detert (from the original adventuring group) Kettlin (silvered hands, torture method for mages) Bedend [very gellian] - Spellcaster, heavy robes, charred fingers, no crown   Ruins: Blumoor ruins are more dangerous but better loot Daylight areas are mostly kept to, tunnels hide worse fears   Got Pet Rock from market (Yeffield)   Souls and Spirits underneath the ground of the Parish garden.   Introduce us to the Warden, the Saint Substance in the censer will calm and enduce sleep, pale smoke We all make contact in a circle as we fall asleep Effortless transition into dreaming Liminal space, blue sky and green lawn (infinite) Twinkle used to experience different landscapes We're not dreaming together, we're experiencing the Priest's dream Could be considered magic. Priests tend to have magic capabilities in some capacity, some command over verve The ground starts to calmly erode and tear into a new landscape, a Ruin. Forest with old oak trees. Large hill with old castle, perched apon the battlements - a large bird. Distance feels null when thinking of the bird. Murk meets its gaze The Warden - one of the 13 Saints. Watches over 'us'.   Warrior made out of branches, armour, flesh, grafted creation, huge, wielding massive club with a steel symbol. (Crown of Daggers symbol). Not a wretch, but a Fey creation. Arcana rolls: Fey creation, Krag's seen similar in the warfront, hate fire.   "They have felt you dreaming Diedrich. And you have brought others with you now." Diedrich - Priest "I am no wretch. I am grafted of branch and bone. I am perfection." "Little dreamers, I have you seen as well. They have seen you as well."   Why is the Court of Daggers in Yeffield? They cared abt the Priest, are they after the priest or Saint?   Diedrich hadn't met these before. Something in the Red Ruins is creating these. Keeps meeting Diedrich in the dream. He's dreamt too much to go unnoticed. Something in the Red Ruins is creating these creatures (with a CoD marking) Warden shows Diedrich a creature, a dreamer/scholar/artisan, takking wretch and lost adventurers into foul creatures. Making an army? This is what Madam and Diedrich spoke of. Home to something new and disgusting. Hagslayers and Cecilia dont necessarily trust the visions that Diedrich get. Diedrich has spoken with Cecilia abt these matters, Cecilia would wish to go herself if she could. If she saw the field corpses, she'd march people to their death. Madam Juno spoke with Cecilia when circus first arrived. She wishes to lead a military force into the Ruins. Why she doesn't interfere with the Hagslayers, she's hoping they'll help in turn. Madam cannot make her mind on the choice.

    Session 2

    Dream
  • ethereal liminal
  • where people used to pray
  • Maksym wants us to stay and watch the circus Madam Juno chooses to confine in Murk cause of his ability to dream. (possible means of communication?) Something inhuman about the sheer sweetness of her voice Madam Juno has been having a dream - asking Murk to act on it About a man in Yeffield, unsure who it is. Old and carries a book. He's wise and dreams often. Madam Juno wants him to be found and brought to the circus. Should be eager to meet Madam Juno   Rotten wooden walls surround Yeffield. Abt head height. Notably different armor between the townsguard and Hagslayers Wheat wreath symbol.   Market selling red ruin things   Come back tomorrow for pet rocks Family ruin of a family from the old world. Two wings stretching out from the center. Drifters from the Red Ruins coming in the evening, bringing treasure.   Taverns in Yeffield: The Fredricks House, do not go there. Assumed to not be friendly towards Harvesters. Chief of the Hagslayers stays there, old man. The Riverboat, tavern that stands out Old man owns the Riverboat. Hans works the bar. Hans, Two-floored building. White and red roof (typical Yeffield)   Yeffield only really has one road going in and out, river is on opposite side. Weekends are kinda Geld exclusive. Lumeport west, big trade relation with Yeffield.   Draft Crabs!! Transportation system Also common in food, some bred purely for eating. Crab Juice - Salted seafood broth   Fishermen, farmer, priest!! Priest - By the church, not a fan of drinks. To the west, outside the walls. Hemse, family that runs the town. Cecilia runs it mainly. Dad is still around   Church Weatherwane with eye symbol The Warden Young blondie, human male. Long white pale blue robes Sermon in two days Private sermon the following morn Priest Speaks strangely as he knows us a bit   Hagslayers leader was talking to someone in his room Short man, slightly taller than Twinkle   Pats his knee when standing and sitting Claims to have no quarry with fey, the war does not concern him. "If he's lying to you now, he's been lying the whole time", no discernable break of character Raniero - Chief of Hagslayers Slight hum in the air as I touch his hand. Lessens as I let go. Starts talking in the room again as I leave (empty room??)   Ms. Bell spends evening in the Fred's.

    Session 1
    15th of Tangi 547 AG

Maksym didnt approve of the carnaval going this far north   Wretch (monsters), coming from north, ichor induced creatures from the Sea of Dreams. Towns usually tend to have an issue with these things, we've been helping best we can. This has meant that the more north we go, the more the carnaval has helped.   No clear indication of what's in Yeffield that drew us here.   Yeffield has a mercenary group hired to help This is a trend in all of Geld > as less money is going into military or guard. As such they hire mercenary groups from Greywood or Council of Oars.   During our travels, Wretch have been varying degrees of tough, ranging from manageable to huge lizard that Madam Juno fought off. River between border of Geld and Greywood that has water from the sea of dreams.   Yeffield is known for it's whiskey Wickten family - well known name Centered in this region, somewhat found in the capital.   Murk's dream Belltower in a church - parish church Misty small town, white buildings, red roofs - Yeffield Warm inviting presence around the church Far to the north, the Red Ruins Before Godfall, several days from Yeffield but still the closest settlement Big important soul/verve there   Dog (breed from Grassmere) pulling Krag's cart Axel   Madam walking in the night, bohemian robes, out of the circus grounds. Seen by Krag.   Jolly Baddock finds Maksym too cautious, and Maksym finds Jolly Baddock too careless.     Muscular woman, armoured, weathered skin (presumably Oarsmen) - Amalia Wearing trinkets and baubles in her armor and in her messy hair. Teeth, bone shards, etc. We assume these are the hired help based in Yeffield.
