Xalni Remego

"I'm headed to a new show in town. It's by this gnome fellow, and all the background dancers are corpses that they reanimated themselves."   "What the f***?"   - Two Trebai individuals, discussing Remego's musical
Xalni Remego was an Uburi gnome who lived outside of the town of Brooder's Crossing during the Fourth Era. Remego was a necromancer, frequently reanimating corpses for the purposes of performing complex musical numbers.
Remego was born to gnomish parents in the town of Brooder's Crossing, an important settlement within the province of Freevern, which sat in the Western Commons. The family had been exiled from their commune in the Northern Commons for practicing necromancy, a trade the young Remego quickly took up. They pretended to be ordinary farmers, but their activities were eventually discovered by local authorities, and they were once again driven out.   The family took up residence in an ancient wizard's tower not far from the town, and Remego lived there for a large chunk of their life. During this time, Remego's parents died of old age.   Remego continued to practice necromancy, but had trouble finding a use for their reanimated corpses. Remego was unsure what to do until they witnessed a traveling musical number, and decided to replicate the experience with their corpses. Remego eventually mastered this art, and wrote and practiced various musical numbers.   One day, a group of travelers accidentally witnessed Remego's antics. Most of the travellers were disgusted; however, one member of the party, a Trebai noblewoman, was delighted at the spectacle. She offered Remego an offer to play at the palace of the High King of Atla Vera in the city of Peak. Remego gladly accepted, and they and their corpses made the trip.   Though not without controversy, the show was a success. Remego's musical, a drama about a gnomish outcast who lives with an array of reanimated corpses, drew critical acclaim across the High Kingdom of Atla Vera and the Alois Confederacy.   Following their newfound fame, Remego was welcomed back to their commune, and they used their funds to improve their fellow Uburi's lives. Despite their success, in their later years Remego became prone to alcohol use, which negatively affected their health and mental cognition.   Remego was killed in a barfight at the age of 439 while visiting the Sunlit Isles. A horde of Remego's zombies prompty avenged them.
