The workshop
(The official name of the workshop is pending.)
There's a workshop in town that's owned by a kind-hearted middle-aged woman. It offers classes, studio space for those who don't have room in their own homes, and all sorts of art supplies that one can borrow or rent or buy as they need them. There are a few rooms set aside to be galleries of some of the artwork that's created there.
Artwork here includes everything from drawing, sketching, and painting to sewing and knitting. The workshop has two floors and a basement. The basement is fully set aside for musicians, including sound-reducing practice rooms and pianos available. There's a piano tuner in town who volunteers to tune the pianos every six months to keep them in good condition.
The first floor is the visual art space, with places to draw, sketch, paint, and whatnot.
The top floor is home to writers, with comfy chairs and desks and a little kitchenette so that people can make coffee or tea to have while they write.
Groups of friends will often reserve a room in the workshop to work on their projects. There's also a bulletin board in the entryway that gets updated every week with information on all sorts of things, like yard sales, upcoming plays and performances, and the general news of the town.
