Drapier's Guild
The Drapier's Guild oversees the production and manufacture of linen and silk, and controls most of the post-production manufacture of clothing in the city as well.
Linen, made from the flax plant, is cheap and available to all classes. While flax production is labor-intensive and linen manufacturing is time-consuming, the quality of the garment makes it preferable to wool for most merchants and upper class. Fine linen is used for the veils of ladies, for undergarments, and for a wide variety of apparel and household furnishings.
The Drapiers are one of the most powerful guilds in Dayne-on-the-Loch. Over the last century, they have absorbed many related craftsmen guilds such as tailors, ribbon-makers, belt-makers, furriers, mercers, haberdashers, and other textile-related skills. The relationship between the Woolers and Drapiers is strained due to the near-overlap of many of their official trades.
