The Journal of B?, Voice of the Ancient World
LONG SUNAs the memories of Aeridos ancient history fall further into the mists of time, the lack of primary sources from the era known as the Age of Horror becomes more acutely felt. The rarity of writings and artifacts from this time has left most scholars resigned to the idea that the well of sources from this time may have run dry.

The most detailed, scrutinized and famous of these primary sources is the document known as The Journal of B?, written by an orc known only as ‘B?’. Unlike most other tablets and documents recovered whose written forms have remained entirely or only partially translated, the orc script has remained largely unchanged over thousands of years.
Several copies of ‘The Journal of B?’ have been uncovered in libraries, and in the hands of a few prominent orcs that belong to the Speakers kith. There are currently eight verified copies of ‘The Journal of B?’. Three are in personal collections of Speakers, one in the National Library of Cin Tayun, the Royal Library of Rath, the Archives of the Argan Institute, The Thul Archives, and the Freehold Public Library. Other copies that various individuals claim have not been verified.
RAINThe dedication of B? towards cataloguing his supplies and his travels has made it relatively easy to track his journey. The journal begins in what is modern northern Cin Tayun, across the Elderlands through the Iron Mountains and then down between the border of the Barbarian Wastes and Arga. A distance of about 3400 miles mostly alone and on foot. A feat most modern travelers would not attempt. B? made note of the landscape, the movement of herds, and even the change of plants through the seasons and regions.

CLOUDSPersonal information about B? is the one thing he did not write about in his journal. Even his signature, written only once in his first entry, was scrawled in such a way that no one has been able to decipher it. Some have speculated that it may not even be his name, but whatever title he had earned when he served under a Fae Court. He may have had no name. Others theorize that perhaps B? was perhaps a term or name he was attempting to write out phonetically. Beyond these discussions all that is known is that B? was a male orc of fighting age who was the sole survivor of one of the final battles at the end of the Age of Horror.
