Optimus Prime Cultural Enrichment Center
A museum within Residential Zone East, designed to not only provide entertainment to colonists, but education. Dedicated in honor of the fallen Optimus Prime, who helped explore the planet Earth, the museum features a variety of exhibits about the history of The Cybertronian Empire, colonization, technology, and major historical figures.
The museum's docent is Simulation Maxima, who will narrate the displays for those that don't want to (or can't) read.
Characters that spend a full day in the facility may get a one-time +2 bonus to Knowledge/Cybertron.
Exhibits:
- The Founding of the Cybertronian Empire-- 9000 stellar cycles ago, the polity of Iacon was founded by Vector Prime. Because of Iacon's strategic location on the sea, it became a trade hub for the other city-states. Their advanced agricultural techniques, many still in use today, allowed them to prosper even when their contemporaries waned.
- The Destron Wars-- 8000 stellar cycles ago, invaders from Cybertron's distant hemisphere attacked Iacon and the other city-states. These massive warriors were the Destrons. Nova Prime, Iacon's ruler at the time, bravely led a coalition of the other city-states to victory against the Destrons.
- The Pax Cybertronia and the Golden Age of Cybertron-- After the war, Nova Prime sought to end the conflict on the planet, and worked to integrate Destrons into Cybertronian society. The other city-states, damaged in the war, came to Iacon for help rebuilding. Together, they formed a united system of rule-- the Council of Iacon.
- The Colony Wars-- With the advent of new post-war technology, deep space travel became possible. Brave explorers sought out new planets which might host Cybertronian life, and so the first colonies were founded, making Iacon the seat of The Cybertronian Empire. However, some of the colonies began to demand their independence and rose up against their homeworld. These were the Colony Wars, which ended in the deployment of the first Nucleon Bomb on Bellux. Afterwards, new charters were drawn to improve Colonial life.
- The Great War-- Dissatisfied with the outcome of the Colony Wars and filled with an unhealthy hatred towards Iacon, the Council, and our free market, a miner named Megatron gained a following in Helex with his anti-Imperial doctrine. His followers became the Decepticons, and this ideology spread not just throughout the colonies, but Cybertron itself. Eventually, the Decepticons rose up against the Empire, and the Great War began. While the struggle between the Empire and the Decepticons is not truly over, a ceasefire was drawn when Megatron dropped a space station on the city of Apophenia, ending millions of innocent lives. He was then removed from his leadership of the Decepticons, and died as a fugitive.
- Operation Chosen Stars-- During the ceasefire, an exciting new discovery was made. Texts recovered from Primitive ruins described a sister-planet to Cybertron on the other side of the galaxy. An exploration mission was sanctioned, led by the commander of the Autobots, Optimus Prime. This mission, Operation Chosen Stars, found the planet known as "Earth," which is the first planet known to harbor intelligent life beyond our own. The native inhabitants are called "humans," which are small, primitive, and warlike creatures.
