Festung Dora

Festung Dora is the fifth of the Panzer Soldaten's "Core Fortresses," heavy fortifications that help them hold their territory in Nevada.   Its commander is Baron von Hellrot, who often attempts to delegate his command duties elsewhere.   The major feature of Festung Dora is its subterranean hangar, in which the landkreuzer Brunhilde is being reformatted. Festung Dora's main purpose is to be for her resupply and refit once deployed.   The base consists of six major sectors:
  1. The Drill Yard, used by the troops stationed there for exercises. A muddy, simulated no-man's land complete with trenches, firing ranges, and defilades. The yard is designed to be easily destroyed to make way for Brunhilde once complete. Three squads of Sturmtruppen occupy this area during day shifts.
  2. The Armory, a long, low building partially sunk into a concrete bunker. Contains munitions for the troops stationed there. The base's quartermaster can be found here. Racks of high-caliber ammunition are kept in wet storage to prevent explosions, while small-arms rounds are found in less-secure shelving. In this area, the party can find extremely high-caliber rounds meant for use with Brunhilde's main guns.
  3. The Officer's quarters. While utilitarian on the outside, the interior has many modern comforts. This acts as a headquarters for the base's higher-ranking officials, as well as boarding for visiting guests and clients.
  4. The Barracks, cheap and utilitarian long-house bunking for the troops stationed here. A mess-hall building with open-air seating is part of the complex as well. There are four barracks buildings total.
  5. The Subterranean Hangar, accessed via a service elevator next to the base's generator. In this vast underground facility, the Landkreuzer Brunhilde is being reformatted and upgraded for Earth operations. The bottom floor is occupied by technicians that maintain the life-support and reformatting systems for Brunhilde. Stairs lead up to catwalks where more complex monitoring systems are available. Dr. Sprocket monitors this area regularly, checking in on his patient.
  6. The Machine Shop, a combination of factory, garage, and field hospital. Here, assembly lines are turning out stamped firearms, ammunition, and spare treads, while medics attend to injured mercenaries. The machine shop also contains access to the sewage system.
