COMPLETE Chapter 6: Broken Home
After encountering Six the party returns to find Mission City a less-welcoming place.
Plot points/Scenes
Scene 1: Return
After arriving back at Mission City, the party will be stopped at the town gates by several Autoroopers. Streetwise is with them.
A: Hold up, right there. Can you confirm your identities?
SW: Wait, don't worry. I know them, they're good. Sorry about that. We're just looking for a culprit. I know you've been out on a mission.
Streetwise steps aside to reveal the body of Granger, who seems to have been stabbed multiple times.
SW: This old guy ran the Colonial Supply Company in town... what would anyone have against him? The crazy thing is, the security cameras out here didn't pick any of this up, no struggle, no suspect. Just, POP, there he is. There's something going on here, and I'm going to get to the bottom of it. In any case, I know Sentinel's waiting for you in Garrison EarthCom, but he's definitely on edge. Just make sure you've got a good spin.
If the party heads to EarthCom, they'll find Sentinel waiting for them, watching the holo-display.
SM: That was pretty quick. But does that mean that the job actually got done? With you lot, it's a mystery.
SM: So you secured both rifles? Good. That's a step in the right direction.
SM (after seeing Six's arm): Get me a containment team, now.
Several heavily-armored and hermetically-sealed soldiers burst into EarthCom, brandishing weapons and demanding that everyone make space. They produce a heavy-duty looking canister and lower the arm inside carefully before sealing it and leaving.
SM: Well, I guess you did lose one of the rifles. You let Longroof loose in the city, blow a hole into the Mine, and now this. I'm starting to think some disciplinary measures may be in order. But you are very good at killing Speedwagons. I think I'm going to redirect those talents of yours. Sergeant Shard!
Shard enters and probably stands at attention.
SM: You're going to keep these dregs in line while they're on a very special assignment. I've got an informant within the Mission City Mine workers that tells me Scrench, a routine troublemaker, is planning a strike for tomorrow after lunch. She and her organized-labor cronies have got connections with the Decepticons, and the good people of Drillbit Heavy Industries bring a lot of money into this colony-- so it's imperative you nip this in the bud. You're authorized to use lethal force to break up the strike, if you have to. You're dismissed. Don't fuck this one up, too.
The next day, the strike begins. Scrench leads several mine workers in protest.
SC: We want answers! We want fair treatment! Our labor must be protected!
SC: The working conditions in this mine are unsafe! And now we're under threat of unauthorized demolitions! Where the hell are we digging? We want to know!
Protestors: We want to know!
SC: And we are not going to be satisfied until our demands are met! One! We want to organize! We're going to form a union! And we're not going to let you treat us like slaves! Two! We need access to mine planning, so we stop digging into dead ends in the middle of nowhere! Three! We want comprehensive compensation for the injuries sustained during this unethical operation! And we will not be silenced!
SC: Oh, by the Pit! Look! Is that all the more you can do? Send in the troops?! You don't want to hear us, so you'll just kill us! I want everyone in this city to see! That's why we're filming this! We've got body cams recording this and streaming it straight to the Colonial Informer! And on unsanctioned channels across this planet! Right now, everyone is going to know that this is what you think of freedom and democracy! That this is what the Autobots stand for!
If the party responds with lethal force, the protestors will attack.
SC: Stand your ground! We're not going to back down without a fight! If we die, we're martyrs for this cause! Come on! Get them!
