The Cult of the Journeyman

The creation.

In the years after the death of The Banished God, or The Journeyman as he is more commonly known, a secret cult of worshippers started to emerge from the city of Brask's underbelly. The Journeyman's reputation had soured during the last hundred years of his life, to the point where he was shunned from the position as the founder of the land. All over the country rumors of his wrongdoings flourished and many people started to loose faith in him. But not everyone. Some intellectuals were convinced that the bad reputation that he had gotten were undeserved. They started to meet in secret groups in the dead of night, before they occupied abandoned warehouses near the Bloodshores, the place where the Journeyman arrived after being banished from the Pantheon. Many people know that the cult exists, but only few have any ideas of what they do.  

The first three leaders.

Abernathan.

The first leader of the cult was a tall and slender man called Abernathan, a stout believer in the good deeds of the Journeyman, and the son of Brask's insane mayor. He spent ten years of his life in converting the nonbelievers, before he was killed in The Autumn Uprising. During his leadership, the cult had no significant things to be recognized by, but his successor, Lors had visions for the future.  

Lors.

The first thing that Lors did was get to work on the clothing for the cult. As a trained tailor he created an elaborate robe made from the finest material he could buy. The colors, crimson red with a dash of white at the neck, was guaranteed to catch the eyes of the townspeople. Finally he sew the Oar of the Journeyman right above the left breast on the robe and embedded it with petite crystals of ruby.  

Meghara (The founder of the Wrecked City).

Up until the final years of Lors' lifetime, the organization had functioned as a cult that didn't felt the need to be at odds with the law. But hard times came, and starvation took its toll on the cult. Many members threw down the ruby robe in disappointment and returned to their normal life. But one person persisted. Meghara, the first female member of the cult had felt the good that the cult could do, and decided to take the leadership for herself. She staged a coup to oust Lors from the cult so she could be the new leader. With Lors and his subordinates away from influence, she was free to do what she saw as the best way for the cult. With her threads, spreading all across the city, she rose the the cult to its peak of influence which stretched all across the land.
