The Silent Hand

The Fairtrade Union, also known as the "Silent Hand," is a shadowy organization that operates in the shadows of the city. They are not just a group of common pickpockets and burglars, but a well-organized group of skilled thieves and smugglers with a clear hierarchy and set of rules. They have a deep resentment towards the wealth divide between the Crown District and Portside, and view the ruling elite as corrupt and greedy. They operate with the belief that wealth should be distributed more equally among the people, and see themselves as a force for justice in the city.   The Silent Hand is known for their secrecy and their skillful use of stealth and deception. They have a complex system of codes and signals that allow members to identify each other without raising suspicion, and they only allow trusted individuals to join their ranks. The Silent Hand is made up of individuals from all walks of life, from destitute beggars to skilled artisans, and they often use their diverse skill sets to accomplish their goals.   Their main targets are wealthy merchants and nobles in the Crown District, and they use their stolen goods to provide aid to the poor and fund their operations. They are also involved in smuggling goods in and out of the city, particularly to and from the nearby colonies. While they are viewed as criminals by the authorities, they have a certain level of respect among the common people who view them as protectors of the downtrodden.   The Silent Hand is a dangerous group to cross, as they are known for their brutality towards those who betray them. They are not above using violence to accomplish their goals, but they prefer to operate in secrecy to avoid drawing attention to themselves. Despite their notoriety, little is known about the inner workings of the Silent Hand, and they remain a mysterious and elusive presence in the city.
