Mythweavers and Scholars
While everyone wants to understand what The Lost Moment actually was, not many are equipped with the level of magic and natural intelligence required to make sense of the arcana surrounding the fossil sites strewn throughout Caradon. Those who possess these abilities, and unquenchable curiosity, often find themselves recruited by the various orders and factions of Mythweavers or Scholars who seek to understand what exactly The Lost Moment was.
Mythweavers are those who primarily use more ancient techniques and traditional techniques to understand The Lost Moment. Mythweavers tend to do their work within religious sites such as churches and chapels, places of worship both holy and occult in nature. Scholars, in contrast, are those with a penchant for using sciences and a more rigid structure to do magic and understand The Lost Moment. Scholars tend to do their work within the Universities and similar such places. While Mythweavers and Scholars have their own dedicated places of research, they will often work together to share information and collaborate.
Mythweavers and Scholars have been responsible for the current data and understanding regarding fossil sites , particularly the siphoning of magic from these sites. The earliest of those helped establish key settlements such as Day Veil and Drusla, either becoming their leaders or settling into high leadership positions within the cities.
Career
Payment & Reimbursement
As researchers to what has become vital to the survival of the Ton, Mythweavers and Scholars play a crucial role in society. Those who work for governments and larger institutions such as Universities are given grants for their work, as well as a regular salary according to their experience (or so it should be). There are also those that are directly funded by wealthy individuals for more specific research, often paid exorbitant amounts for their talents and expertise.
Perception
Social Status
Mythweavers and Scholars, particularly those in the upper eschelons of their institutions that run their own labs, are viewed with deep respect in society as their research brings advancement and modernization.
However, some also view them with deep fear, perceiving them to be toying with the very things that had destroyed Caradon to begin with. Perhaps it would be better to leave things alone.
