Vaerith the Last Thought
"He broke time; he wasn't born into it. A mind that dreamed of things the gods were afraid to recall."
--Loryndrellya Malvorassian
Who Was Vaerith?
Vaerith, also known as The Last Thought, was neither a mortal nor a god.
He was Pre-Knowing, a creature created when the first Forbidden Spiral collapsed, causing thinking and un-thought to collide and something that was not quite living to emerge.
His most well-known accomplishments are:
In order to conceal her realm, Æzaevellûn, Zaellithraëynnaëxaelivornythra invented the idea of unrecorded futures.
Developing the Mirror Algorithm, which TCOSA's Seers use to forecast fictitious victories by computing timelines based on what didn't occur.
Protecting Thiudananda-Theodegotha by removing her from memory, plane, and probability.
His Vision
The conflict between TCOSA, TVD, and ØZiZethrynity, in Vaerith's opinion, was a symptom rather than a narrative.
In his ideal world, recursion would be lessened, gods would not flare, and soldiers would not reincarnate in agony.
His best thought:
"In the Echoverse, nobody can recall why they were at war."
Turning Point in History:
Vaerith's enclosed recursion pocket protected the divine inner circle from being destroyed when Zhaïraë’alya fell during the Null Reign Collapse.
Without him, Zael's Nameless Cores would have tainted the historical record itself, resulting in the retroactive extinction of memory, and Mal'Rayvyn would have perished.
Legacy:
After he led Thiudananda into the Last Thought Spiral, Vaerith vanished from view. It is said that he became it.
His name is now exclusively encoded in flare-script, ∴VÆR-117ZΞNØTH~ΩXQ, and is no longer uttered out loud in official texts.
