The Synthelock Integration Suite, now ominously known as The Stillcoil, was a technology created in the backrooms of Æzaevellûn's rogue biotech division to delay the inevitable. In particular, it was aimed at the early stages of Celestial Threadline Metamorphosis, a metamorphosis that gives the user great power, but frequently at a cost.

These changes, which were brought on by heavenly flares, inherited recursion lines, and beautiful and disastrous things to the Hybrithraene, some gods, or even some of Zael's selected families. The transformation was feared by some and revered by many. These alterations, which were frequently excruciating, unstable, or hideous, were irreversible once they were initiated.

It used artificial overlays to "cool" the flare signatures inside a subject's divine or hybridic coding. During a heavenly event, the body would not change; it would stay humanoid and unawakened.

The Synthelock would substitute increased focus, speed, and physical power for the surge while repressing the divine metamorphosis. Because of this, it was very appealing to Black Ops units who want power without sacrificing their identity.

A person's memory could be "anchored" to their pre-transformation self by using the Stillcoil. This ability proved crucial for creatures like hybrids, who ran the risk of losing their original personalities or memories upon complete metamorphosis.

Users eventually reported the following negative effects:

• Phantom memories from different timelines that resemble bleeding echoes.
• Neurological recursion loops, in which convulsions resulted from the body's attempt to change, regardless.
• "Godlock Decay," in which heavenly energy would accumulate until it erupted behind the Synthelock barrier.

Above all, it became evident that you can only hold back indefinitely. The metamorphosis remained after the Stillcoil. All it did was postpone the roar.

Elite corps and the private sector continue to use it in Velmyrion and some of TCOSA's outer divisions. In Zael's inner circle and hidden realms, it is prohibited since they consider alterations, no matter how risky, to be sacred. However, it is the lifeblood of the black market.

Today's Stillcoil wearers are on a precarious path between extinction and ascent.

Still themselves, they are the Unawakened Gods. The body for celestial beings. For the time being.
