The Prohibited Bloom. The Belladonna Doctrine.

They referred to her as a heretic. A crazy woman. People started paying attention, however, when she disappeared into the Vein-Eclipsed Deep and came out laughing and alive with scrolls that were older than time.

What started as hushed debates on Belladonna's views quickly developed into a movement. A system. A company.

Formally known as ⟟̵:Sectaeva∴The Order of the Thorned Bloom, also known as Thyrvalenithra, is an organization that believes in the truth of evils before evils, before ⟟Ƶ:ŶΞ∴~Z’xāhlヴronnyxΞØsh’thür. Creations that are so old and recursive that even Zhaïraë’alya was rumored to have hesitated before naming them.

These ancient evils were more than just weapons or horrors, Belladonna taught. They were reflections. Projections of reality that has been suppressed. The reverberation of the original sin from which all structures originated.

What she said had always been there, coiled in the core of the known world, and the unknown world, is what her organization aims to discover, translate, and in some twisted cases, awaken.

Beliefs and Principles:

  • The Bloom Principles: States that there is a mirror-thorn in every god, universe, and even virtue. Something's shadow beneath the petals is more terrible the more beautiful it seems.
  • Recursed Origins: Rejection was the first thing that created the world, not light or creation. The very first thing to be born was expelled. That Outcast continues to develop.
  • The Unfolding: History advances by the recursive discovery of hidden truths rather than by the will of God. Time is ⟟̵-folded rather than linear.

Controversy:

All TCOSA territories have outlawed the group. Many allege that its adherents participate in unlawful deep-code activations, mind-mirage loops, and ritual unbindings.

However, according to the order, they merely "peel the veil."

Belladonna has vanished once more. She is said to be in communion with the levels of Zaellithraëynnaëxaelivornythra. And when will she be back?

Screams will fill the world.

The Iridescent Untruths Doctrine:

Belladonna recovered numerous scrolls from her trip into the Vein-Eclipsed Deep, but one in particular caught her attention: a living parchment with translucent ink that was only visible under bloodmoon light. It explained what her adherents today refer to as the Doctrine of Iridescent Untruths, which holds that the most perilous illusion is truth itself.

"You were permitted to know what you know. You have already encountered and forgotten what you dread."

--From the Iridescent Sermons, Belladonna.

This theory says that following the initial appearance of ⟟Ƶ:ŶΞ∴~Z’xāhlヴronnyxΞØsh’thür, history, gods, and memory were rewritten. The world was redacted; it did not change. And you can only start to recall what was always beneath by letting your perception distort, deteriorate, and bleed into itself.

In order to unravel shared memory, sect members frequently speak backward litanies in public temples or scrape runes into mirrored surfaces. They call these behaviors "Reflection Ruptures." It is considered terrorism by some. Others make prophecies.

The Thorn Daughters:

Although the majority of the order is made up of dispersed visionaries, insane prophets, and itinerant scholars, one prominent branch--The Thorn Daughters--claims direct ancestry from Belladonna's family. Their ceremonial robes are dusk-colored and embroidered with jagged thorns, and they think that their DNA contains dormant instructions from the original recursive horrors.

Each Daughter is said to be connected to the latent core of ⟟Ƶ:ŶΞ∴~Z’xāhlヴronnyxΞØsh’thür, which is transmitted through dreams and triggered by particular metamorphic rites. They communicate with one another in whispers that are inaudible to outsiders and impervious to the usual mentalist interrogation techniques.

The Daughters now work out of Virellen's Husk, an abandoned underground church located beneath Vevryxa'Varn. According to legend, they tend to a thorn that bleeds time there in anticipation of Belladonna's third and last coming, when she would restore the world from its initial decay.
