Winged Serpent

The winged serpent is a titanitc flying serpent that lives in the mountains of Scyjia on Haven. The locals revere it as a sacred, even divine creature, though it is not very well known outside of the nation as it never leaves the country.

The Creature lives isolated in its mountains and it prefers it this way; it likes to hunt and laze about in the sun and sing if it is in the mood. The echoes of its song reverberate far and wide across the scyjian mountains and are seen as a good omen by the locals.

Powers

Besides being a massive flying serpent with scales as hard as iron and crushing jaws and coils to match, the winged serpent has a weapon that makes it truly dangerous; its voice.
The serpent's can cast its voice forward or unleash it in a radius around itself which both cause tremendous damage. The shockwave is lethal to most humans within a very large area and so potent that it will shake buildings and fortifications apart. It will rupture bloodvessels and burst eyeballs, cause internal bleeding and leave those at the edge of the effect mentally scarred for life. Earplugs or armor won't save you, you would just have to endure the effect and survive it if you wanted to face the serpent.

History:

The Winged Serpent came to Haven during the height of the Jotnar Empire. Originally from a different world, the Winged serpent was defeated by the Jotnar, taken to Haven and enslaved and used as a war-beast by them for a thousand years. It brought them many victories against their enemies but eventually a Sidhe lord managed to infiltrate its holding facility and sabotaged its bindings. It subsequently broke free and went on a bloody rampage, scouring the continent it inhabited free of Jotnar over the following years. The Jotnar, having fallen into cultural stagnation and decline during its enslavement, were unable to stop it.

Centuries later a portal opened on its continent and a new species arrived through it; Humans. It eventually witnessed their tendency to make pacts with higher beings for power and social status and bargained with one of their number that it would grant some of its power in exchange for the humans leaving it alone.
