Obsidian Hound
A guard dog’s work is never done.Obsidian hounds are figurines created from the spirit of a loyal guardian hound, its spirit captured upon the moment of its death. The resultant figurine is usually passed down across the generations to serve as a guardian for future descendants or as a guardian spirit for a location or building.
Sealed within the figurine is the Shade of the loyal hound, faithful beyond the grave.
The hound will assist its owner in two ways:
- The figurine will alert the owner about any danger it can detect that the owner is unaware of, especially if the owner is asleep.
- If the owner calls the name of the hound, the animal's shade will take physical form and fight. The spirit can only exist in the material world for a short while and this exhausts the spirit greatly. It might need several days to regain its strength, unable to help its owner in any way until then. This time is extended if the manifested spirit is dispelled or banished.
Appearance:
This item is an obsidian figurine of a sitting hound. It is usually made of obsidian or some other stone.On the bottom is inscribed the name of the hound in the language of the creator.
