Klario
The island of Klario is located off the coast off the wastelands of Kharak. The island is cold year-round, though it seemingly does not suffer winters. The "City of weepers" found on the island is known far and wide and much rumor is spread about it.
The island is covered in fields of hardy crops and herds of cattle that yield fodstuffs year round to feed the city. The city itself is visible from any point on the island; a collection of tall towers made from the local red-hued stone. The city is a curious place, full of artworks in the form of statues, mosaics on the floor and walls, stained glass windows and public displays of music and song. Indeed, artistry is one of the defining characteristics of culture on the island, in all its forms.
However what outsiders will notice first will be the white masks that every inhabitant is wearing at all times. These white masks, oftentimes decorated with colourful drawings and writings, are never taken off except among family, and showing one's face uncovered is a great taboo in Klario. Indeed, foreigners will have to wear their own masks or risk being arrested for public indecency. Lacking facial expressions, the people of Klario communicate their feelings through body language and gesticulations, and and by being very vocal how they feel about any particular topic; they are very opinionated and direct.
This is the reason why the entire island is cold year-round, it would be a warm island if it wasn't for the weepers. They practice their artistry and their ceremonies in accordance with their faith, but they would be outcasts in the lands ruled by the Church of Haven.
The island has been isolationist since the beginning, only sending forth the occasional explorer or diplomat through the ages. There was centuries where nobody visited and nobody left the island.
