He dislikes chaos and anarchy and idealizes humans and humanity. Ashan truly loves humanity and is of the opinion that in order to avoid the follies that occurred during the war of burning skies humanity should be ruled by a wise and benevolent shepherd; Himself.
He is not above using force or guile to achieve this goal, though there are things he will not do unless forced.
On Lucelain, Priests of Ashan are officials, law-keepers, healers and educators. They perform several vital roles for society and are irreplaceable for the local communities. Lucelain is a theocracy of Ashan where his clergy rules, a world that while not perfect, was orderly and stable.
On Haven, Priests of Ashan are rather militant and always trying to pursue various monsters and expand their faith. Their zealotry can be off-putting to outsiders.
No unnecessary riches. No houses, no jewelry, no gold or gems unless it is to venerate the gods. if money is necessary to achieve a greater purpose, so be it, but never is material wealth the goal.
Vow of Chastity
Spouses, children and the pleasures of the flesh may bring uncertainty or temptation into the heart of the hammer of the gods. Clerics are thus not allowed, and a cleric is expected to remain chaste.
Vow of Honor
Clerics are expected to behave themselves with honor. To keep their promises, to accept surrender from their enemies, to stand for the values of their god, until death if necessary.
Mandate of Light
Darkness is to be abhorred; in Light you shall live. Places away from the sun are despised by Ashan and his priests should avoid them unless necessary to smite his foes. No follower of Ashan should ever live in darkness. Temples of Ashan are to be fully illuminated.
Mandate of Purity
Priests of Ashan shall not allow creatures of darkness to exist; they must be eradicated with swiftness and without hesitation.
During a minor war that affected ashan's family, he made a pact with a Light elemental and gained magical powers. After several decades of being active, ashan eventually grew in power enough to absorb a light elemental into himself and break the Taboo and become a demigod.
After The War of Burning Skies Ashan achieved full godhood and ascended to the Spirit World.
He discovered a small community of human refugees on the world of Lucelain and decided to take them under his wing. With his help and his power they conquered the world of Lucelain and build it into a great civilization over the following centuries.
He claimed the world's sun, the 'Eye of Ashan' as a divine artifact and uses it to bless the world with constant sunshine and his followers with divine health.
When ashan defeated the Nightmare child, a powerful Titan Beast, he sealed it inside the eye of ashan, unable to defeat it.
Lucelain now enjoys a year of sunlight, interrupted only by one week a year where darkness reigns.
