The Corsair Court

A loosely affiliated group of pirates that claim dominion over the Bloodmar Sea and any pirate plying their trade in the Bloodmar can claim membership as a corsair. The court is traditionally lead by seven lords who each claim an island base out on the seas where corsairs can find safe haven and services such as trade and repairs. Tribute is expected to be paid to a lord to make port in their domain however.   Alongside the private islands of each lord, the Corsair Court also holds dominion over an island known as Corsair Cove. It is here where the lords meet when the court is called. It is a safe haven similar to the islands of the lords but tribute paid here does not go to the lords but to the upkeep of the Cove itself. The founding members of the Corsair Court are the ones responsible for The Marring ritual that gives the Bloodmar its name. As part of the pact formed during The Marring it was agreed upon that no Lord could directly fight another and this ancient blood pact still binds the current Lords. As a result when two or more Lords have a disagreement they often fight a proxy battle with crews hoping to curry favour.

Structure

The Corsair Court is led by seven Pirate Lords. Each Lord is free to decided on how to structure any corsairs who have pledge to him.   The Cove Keeper is the highest ranking member after the Lords. They owe allegiance to the court and so obey the rulings of the Lords as a whole but do not have to obey the orders of any specific lord only those given as official court orders. The Cove Keeper is tasked with running and maintaining Corsair Cove.
