Vault 47

Vault 47 is a mysterious and enigmatic location existing in an extradimensional space. It is accessed through a seemingly ordinary vault-style doorway that leads into a cozy entryway filled with preserved items from a bygone era, such as untouched coffee service and petrified pastries. Beyond the entryway lies a sprawling chamber lined with bookshelves filled with a diverse array of volumes, some of which are decaying while others remain in pristine condition. The room is furnished with comfortable seating arrangements and ornate rugs adorned with sigil-like patterns. However, the most peculiar aspect of Vault 47 is the presence of windows that defy logic by providing a view outside into a murky, pinkish-hued light that fluctuates like liquid. Despite the room's inviting appearance, the trapped nature of its extradimensional space leaves its details and purpose shrouded in mystery, compelling explorers to uncover its secrets and find a way back to their own dimension.

Purpose / Function

The purpose of Vault 47 remains shrouded in mystery, adding to its enigmatic allure. It appears to serve as a repository of knowledge and sanctuary within its extradimensional space. The preserved books, comfortable furnishings, and ornate decorations suggest that it was intended for study, contemplation, and perhaps even refuge. However, the true intentions behind its creation and the identity of its architect remain unknown. Some speculate that Vault 47 was designed as a haven for scholars, researchers, or individuals seeking solace from the outside world. Others believe it may hold deeper secrets or serve a more clandestine purpose, perhaps tied to hidden knowledge, arcane mysteries, or even otherworldly entities. Denizens

A wraith and one golem per Sewer Samurai are present if the room is unlocked by any means outside of the key.  These are the occult aspect of the security system and will immediately attack the players.

Contents & Furnishings

Once you have proceeded past the entryway, every wall surface is lined with book shelves, that are completely full of varying books.   Many of the more delicate volumes have begun to decay and will powder at the slightest touch, but many books of a higher quality are mixed in amongst the rest. The shelves not lined with books appear to contain statuary, small items, and other decorations. These items appear to be of a personal nature and not particularly related to the books in their vicinity.   The explosed hardwood floors are warm and cofmortable to walk on. What's not exposed is covered with thick and comfortable rugs of varying shape and size.   The rooms are furnished with couches, sofas, chairs, and small tables. A few areas appear large enough to seat a small group but largely each location appears to seat a single individual and contain enough space for them to work and read comfortably.   The circular rugs are decorated with highly ornate patterns that are revealed to be diagramatic and sigil-like when examined closely.

Valuables

Ancient Tome
Some of the books may be of value, but the players have no way of knowing which might be.

Special Properties

This room sits in extra-planer space in another dimension. There is currently no way out into this dimension and its details remain unknown.

Defenses

The entrance to the Vault is protected by an ancient and outdated security system for keycard or dial-pad entry. This can be unlocked by a thievery roll at -2 without much difficulty.   Players may find creative ways to unlock the dial-pad and earn a benny, but most any method should provoke the inhabitants to wakefulness and trigger the encounter within unless a player can somehow pretend to be Nathan Toshigawa successfully (GMs discretion)
