In the world of Big Apple Sewer Samurai, Fish Out of Water are individuals who have arrived in New York City through unconventional means, such as time travel or dimension hopping. Acquired by T-Tech for study or having found their own way to the city, they struggle to adjust to their new environment due to their lack of familiarity with local customs and norms. Fish Out of Water face challenges with the Outsider (Minor) and Clueless Hindrances, feeling out of place in their new surroundings. However, their past experiences from other realities grant them unique insights and skills, including two free Weird or Professional Edges.   Despite the strangeness of the Big Apple, Fish Out of Water are unfazed by its oddities, gaining a +2 bonus to resist Fear and Tests. Their diverse life experiences also enable them to approach problem-solving from unusual angles, providing valuable support to their companions in the underground world of New York City.
