Aekminur (A-k-min-y-er)

Aekminur is a city of technological and magical advancement. Since the angelic evasion, an ancient entity the city calls the hunter has dedicated its existence to destroy the city and all who live within its walls. To combat this, the city summoned the Mortal Realm's greatest minds to allow the city to randomly teleport around the realm to escape the hunter's wrath. Technologies Aekminur is known for a few things, but not as much as Airships. Flying boats powered by draconic energy allows traveling great distances much easier. Aekminur is also the birthplace of firearms, lifts, heating/cooling systems, and more.

Government

Aekminur has no solid foundation of government and it changes near constantly. Currently (as of 100 A.E.) Aekminur is protected and governed by a group of secret police whose political appearance is of randomly selected civilians. This group is called The Hell Singers named after the legendary vampire hunter Van Helsing's first kill: the Hell Singer. (See more information on how this group came to power in the Aekminur Timeline). The Hell Singers enforce their policies utilizing fear and violence in an incredibly effective manner. They never openly admit to any murders or threats and leave it for the people to create rumors and local legends to put the fear into the criminal populous.

Economy

Because of the city's constant movement with no specific intervals of time between movements, Aekminur would have a very unstable economy if it were not almost entirely self-sufficient. Without direct trade from outside the city, Aekminur does not have access to natural materials. This is why the V.R.G. (Various Resource Gatherers) was formed. Their task is to collect natural resources outside of the city or to do work in and purchase it from a neighboring settlement to give to the Aekminur Treasury. Doing city jobs (farming, medical practice, construction, etc.) citizens are given money directly from the treasury (minted or tax). Non-City jobs are covered by licensed citizens who will trade in only Aekminur Minted Currency. Aekminur Minted Currency cannot be exchanged for any other type of currency, cannot leave the city walls, or be counterfeited/destroyed. Additionally, goods and services may only be paid with Aekminur Minted Currency and not for one's own goods and services or favors.

Religion

Unlike most settlements within the Barren, the city of Aekminur does not have an overall worshiped deity but allows various temples dedicated to any deity of their choosing to worship. Though not officially outlawed, the Hell Singers have a negative bias towards worshipers of death, undeath, night, and the shadow realm. As a result, they will punish worshipers of these concepts more viscously or find them guilty of crimes they've never committed. These cases aren’t too common as most fear these concepts and therefore don't worship them or care that these biases exist. Despite the wishy-washy religions of Aekminur, it's very rare for citizens to make enemies of each other because of it. Most find religion insignificant as they can use technology to accomplish miracles themselves. Deities are still worshiped here because the previous belief is solely based on the fact that worshipers only worship to achieve miracles, which is obviously not always the case.

Military

The Hell Singers stealthily roam the streets watching out for crimes or vampiric activity. When action calls they quickly put on identity concealing apparel (most common items of clothing used: masks, leather gloves, hoods) to deal with the issue. When an enemy threatens the entire city, the Hell Singers will equip full body armor specially designed to keep their identity a secret. While they take time to prepare to take on the threat, many citizens are prepared to form a militia and buy time until they can appear.
