The Kraken leaves the waves and attacks the Requian Coast. After three weeks of destruction, a holy wizard used magic to enchant the monster and force it back into its slumber. This man was titled the first Kraken Priest.
After the tyrannical dragons are imprisoned the coast was left in a economic depression as the hoards of stolen treasure had yet to be found or reclaimed. A lawyer named Leigh Danson rose to the occasion, proposing a plan to create trade routes between all the major settlements on the coast, spanning through kingdoms. Once the plan was completed the kingdoms were for the first time in history unified, and in fear that the depression would return decided to become a single body- the Requian Empire, with the first emperor being Leigh Danson.
An adventurer named Yerg Yerginsten uncovers a dragon hoard. Hearing this, the Requian Empire requests him to return the stolen treasure to the coast. Yerg disagrees provoking the Empire to send forces to take it from him. This provoked a six-year chase throughout the isles of the coast, eventually ending in Yerg's capture.
Inspired by Yerg Yerginsten's avoidance of the Requian Empire, thieves and bandits from all over the coast turned to a life of piracy, beginning a new era in the region.
To combat the great number of pirates, the empire creates the Requian Navy
The The Pirate Syndicate meet with the Requian Empire. They make a deal stating that the pirates will leave the coast be as long as they keep the isles as their territory. The Empire agreed as long as they kept their secrecy and be allowed to claim the Golden Age of Piracy as a victory for the coast. Both parties agreed, ending the secret war between them and the Golden Age of Piracy.
Urmany, under the magical control of Peter Obenslauter threatens to spread that magical control to the rest of Great Eethill. Several groups led by Fate's Bane fought Urmany before any major damage could be done.
The party of Fate's Bane kills Lady Fate and stops her plans of destroying the Barren and returning the universe to be an endless void of monsters. This caused a blast of magical light to explode from her corpse and consume the Barren's entirety, causing all sorts of magical mishaps around the universe.
The magic created by Lady Fate's death broke the enchantment over the Kraken, freeing it from the Kraken Priest's control. If the first attack could be described as the Kraken's destructive wandering, this attack would be its apocalyptic rampage fueled by nearly a century of enslavement.
The second king of the cliffs is assassinated during a ball, leaving the throne to be with Sea's Appeal (Crynline Castaway) until his son comes of age. The plot was set up by Castaway, hiring a member of the Gulls (Luthor Mellowcash) to accomplish it.
After the King's assassination, the queen (Lilith) and the prince (Hew) were sent to a safe house in Seaview's People's District. Their position was compromised, however, and the two were placed in danger with Tempest's End needing to intervene. Lilith realized Hew wasn't safe under the government's protection and couldn't fight back against Castaway's rule while on the run; she entrusted Hew's protection to the adventuring party who saved them out of desperation. When Castaway learned of Hew's taking she framed it as a kidnapping and increased the bounties on the party's heads.
Once Sea's Appeal took control over the Requian Navy, they sent ships into restricted waters. The restricted waters were in reality the Pirate Syndicate's territory and this crossing of borders violated the peace treaty they made with the Requian Empire at the end of the Secret War during the Golden Age of Piracy. The War officially began once the Syndicate attacked the Merchant District of Seaview.
The Continental Trade, controlled by the Golden Society of Seaview, was under strain during the Syndicate War. Ships began to cease their journeys and imports became scarce. It wasn't until Tempest's End destroyed the Golden Society that the trade fell apart altogether. Most nations of the Mortal Realm had entered an economic depression that had greatly changed several aspects of the average life- most importantly the normality of magic which had now become scarce with the lack of both education and resources that were obtained through the continental trade.
After the Struggle of Seaview began, the Syndicate War had broken tension and entered full-blown combat. During this time Tempest's End and the settlement of Nameless had begun using their limited resources to expand their territory and take islands from the Pirate Syndicate. This eventually led to a battle in the pirate capital of Shipwreck where Clyde Cloudeyes (the Pirate Syndicate's Captain) agreed with Tempest's End to help silently invade Seaview and defeat Castaway. The final showdown between Castaway and Tempest's End proved Castaway to not be a true follower of Shae as her attempt to prove her piety with the goddess ended up with a tsunami that engulfed the city, harming no one but Castaway. With the return of Lilith Danson, temporary control of the coast was taken by Lilith, and Castaway was sent to Waerytomb Prison along with her accomplice Harper Starswollow.
The source of the Eldritch Storms in the Requian Coast, the Revenant Storm, was approached by the navies of the coast led by Tempest's End. In the eye of the storm was its controller Strenia Imblwarf (a previous member of the adventuring party possessed by a madness and the spirits that make up the storm). After some time Strenia was freed from its control and the storm clouds broke apart and scattered across the Mortal Realm in smaller less destructive bursts.
