Nomad of Moyrae
Moyrae is a goddess of snow and swordplay who appears only during the strongest snowstorms in order to face powerful opponents in battle. Her most devout worshipers, those who follow in her footsteps by taking up a weapon and wandering the world seeking challenges, are known as nomads of Moyrae. They travel with no destination in mind, never settling down for a comfortable life, and always looking for ways to hone their skills, both in battle and in the wild.
Nomads of Moyrae are a varied group, but being one is ultimately an act of religion. They derive meaning and purpose from the continual improvement they strive for, and they consider both victory and defeat to be spiritually enlightening experiences. Some channel their devotion into a particular cause, sanctifying themselves or taking up the oath of a champion. This puts many nomads ideologically at odds with each other, which is considered perfectly acceptable within the faith. It is not who or why one fights that is important to Moyrae, only that they keep getting better.

Social Status
Nomads of Moyrae are always outsiders, and this colors how they are treated by the societies they pass through. In more open-minded places they are seen as little different from any other traveler, but more isolated and superstitious people are often distrustful of them. Being armed strangers with unfamiliar customs, they can be seen as dangerous, especially since there are many devotees of Moyrae who are actively sinister. Her faith only concerns itself with skill in battle, and not how or why it is used, so even though kind-hearted and righteous nomads exist, it is easy to assume that they are nothing but violent brigands.
Demographics
Moyrae herself resembles an elf, and has has therefore become a relatively popular deity among that ancestry. While elves are still not commonly found on Nerilia's surface, many of those who do venture there are nomads of Moyrae. Orcs and hobgoblins, who greatly value prowess in combat, are also some of the most numerous nomads, but their strong senses of community make this way of life less popular than might be assumed. Among other ancestries, nomads of Moyrae are uncommon but not unheard of.
History
Moyrae is a mysterious deity. She is rarely seen, and no one knows exactly what she is or where she comes from. When the first rumors of a strange swordswoman facing down powerful opponents in the midst of blizzards began to circulate, most people dismissed them as nothing but tall tales. A few were inspired by such stories, however, and decided to dedicate themselves to emulating Moyrae, becoming the first nomads. When these people began to recieve divine power, the truth of Moyrae's existence was undeniable, and more people began to take devote themselves to her ways.
