Abridged History of Esha

One might become lost in the various ages of Esha, whether in Qadal or Voryndal. Hereupon the whole history of the ages will be enumerated in a single place. Records of greater depth are accounted within their proper eras.   Both the eras of Qadal and cycles of Voryndal are named here. Each are labelled accordingly. Follow the history according to region, or cast yours eyes back and forth to see how each half of Esha was awakening or withering.

    The Awakening Dream
    Celestial / Cosmic

In the earliest epochs of Eshanic memory, nowhere existed. A single fabric, the primordial thing, existed as raw energy, black nothingness in its dread aspect. Ancient spirits beyond comprehension devoured and bloomed forth from one another- destroying and being destroying in thrilling intensity. Acolitus was born from it, or was it, or perhaps survived it. He reigned as supreme being over a realm of silence.

    Olûn - The Darkness
    Celestial / Cosmic

Silence failed to please the vain tastes of the nascent creator. He desired beauty, though knew nothing of its name. He desired companionship, but knew nothing about its meaning. In placement of those voids Acolitus created the first Eshor- celestial lights. These were the eight Eshor of Kolura, brightest and most beautiful. He was pleased, and thus created many more times their number. Flickering brilliance illuminated every stretch of his perception.   Yet, the unexpected was born from his works. The Eshor which came after Kolura began to fracture and fissure, purging flame into the depths of darkness. Acolitus watched with intense interest as the molten shell burned to nothing. Remaining was a crimson plume which lingered without dispersing. This was Aebaster, the Eldest of the Eshan. Acolitus was enthralled beyond amazement- life's incalculable beauty, now doubled. Further Eshan were born through the same means, until the void of Vussalas was flush with life. Vast millennia passed as these Eshan matured, fought one another, and fractured to factions.   The epoch of Olûn when Aebaster approached Acolitus with a request. He asked if Acolitus might create a new domain with his infinite powers, one in which Aebaster and his siblings might create and be masters themselves. Now, Acolitus witnessed the bitter strife between the Eshan and feared their discord. He came close to denying them, but Aebaster foretold miserable resistance if their awakening dream was crushed. Acolitus created Esha from his abundant Eshanic power, and the greater number of Eshan descended upon it as giddy children to create.

Virkara Vyndal - The Feuding Era
    Celestial / Cosmic

The Eshan frolicked free and blissful upon Esha's soft plains. Unprecedented feats of creative strength were displayed one after another, such as the making of the mountains and forests and oceans and wild beasts populating them. Acolitus breathed relief- perhaps Aebaster was simply correct. The Eshan no longer fought feuds over nothing, but created beauty just as Acolitus himself once endeavored.   Their dreams of peace were shattered upon an unforeseen discover. Qazun, the most diligent creator amongst them, managed to replicate the barriers which separated the consciousness of the Eshan from Acolitus' all-pervasive fabric. It was a naturally occurring phenomenon known as the esseythu. Others might name it the soul. In replicating it, Qazun was able to create beasts which possessed it, therefore becoming sentient from common animals. Olundi, or mortals, were created. Acolitus was terrified of this development, for the hierarchy of sentience was becoming too complex to manage. He demanded Qazun destroy these creations immediately.   Aebaster intervened against him, commanding a confederation of rebellious Eshan. Most the Alor'eshan were among them, saving Atûn and the elder Ezontach. Acolitus again commanded them to control themselves. In their insolence, these Eshan denied him again. Loyal Eshan now flocked to Acolitus' side, include a majority of the Ebal'eshan, who preferred their chances with their creator. This was the First Feud. Hundreds of the Eshan perished, such that most Eshanic names are utterly lost to time. Thousands of fabricated olundi, Qazun's creation and others, were annihilated as bipedal fodder. In the end, the two sides slaughtered one another into stalemate. Matters turned when Atûn betrayed Acolitus in battle, shattering his worldly form, and thus shattering the legitimacy and morale of his cause.   The aftermath was a series of treaties and agreements. Chiefest among them was Kovûnkal. It divided Esha into two halves; Qadal for the Alor'eshan and Voryndal for the Ebal'eshan. It also restricted most direct Eshanic involvement, prompting the medium of religious. Second was Eshuskal, and others. Those Eshan who wanted a part of this new world chose to remain within it, while others returned to Vussalas forever. Now the strands of history was split- with eras in Qadal and cycles in Voryndal. Side-by-side, breathing the same unseen air, but becoming ignorant of each others. This was the fate of the Eshan's awakening dream.

Ukerikes Vyndal – The Gathering Era
    Celestial / Cosmic

The Gathering era was a time of growing. New-born creations of the Eshan established tribes, religions, and economic systems with varying amounts of guidance from their celestial masters. Aemar in Everos washed over Everos, coexisting with the Daorhu of the Ezontach's making. The Elivas to the west were hunted as beasts and hunted like beasts. Odyrzid pillar cities, eldest of Eshanic creation, rose to prominence in Othos, dwarfing the worthless creations of Aemardic neighbors. Olundi in ancient Neyas struggled against the machinations of the Qazunari, being a rogue remnant Eshanic dynasty from the First Feud.   Civilization was fragmented, tribal at best, nomadic at worst. Besides the aforementioned Odyrzid, few coherent cities existed among olundi, making the Odyrzid appear as alien beasts. Hunting and gathering were the norm. Agriculture did not exist in a systematic form. Ignorance was universal, for only the Etayen in Etal were well-connected with their Eshanic master. In the place of true religion came cults of sticks and stones. Ghosts of nature and ancestors were common baubles of the masses, though completely impotent. Perhaps those idly worshiping the celestial lights above were closest to truth, but their musings were degrees separate from reality.   Among the Eshan, weakness was rife. The creation of olundaria reduced every Eshan to near impotence for centuries, enforcing the terrible habits developing among their creations. Only Acolitus remained remarkably strong. Atûn was weak, but reigned among his people, educating them in everything regarding Eshanic lore, technology, language, and philosophy. These circumstances laid the foundations of later troubles among the Eshan, namely the forced assertion of Eshanic theology on an unprepared world in later years.

    First Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

It took no time for the Ebal’eshan to utilize what became known as Qazun’s gift. A frenzy of sentient creations followed, flooding Voryndal with a bizarre array of beings; winged, clawed, burrowing, aquatic, and every manner of life conceived from Qazun’s menagerie were uplifted. Chaos thrived. In this environment of blind worksmanship, no consideration was given to the nascent status quo which governed peace. Civilizations were built as choking sputters while war consumed these races. The Ebal’eshan plunged into the abyss in the wake of Olûllosia, fighting one another to protect their sacred property from utter annihilation.   The immense freedom of creation which the eager Ebal’eshan embraced initiated the defining event of the First Cycle- the Great Extinction. When this creation transitioned to ruin remains uncertain, for no conscious mind among the Eshan contrived such devastation. Yet, it began with competition. In those ancient epochs there were three manners of olûndari races brought into the world. First were the Medilti, or beings whose physical and mental composition was scientifically devised and perfected by Qazunari during the latter years of the Feuding era. These olûndi stood upon two legs, possessed two arms, thought with one head, and was otherwise crafted for self-sufficience in motion and thought. The Viscari were the first such creations. Second to them were the Asuneti, derived from the bestial creations of Qazun crafted during the Feuding era, but not for the purposes of sentient thought nor motion. Their olûndari forms were sometimes alike the Medilti, and othertimes completely new and terrifying. Last were the Nenuneti, or races crafted without the wisdom of Qazun. It was among these races that the suffering was greatest, as was the dizzying variety. Describing the appearance of any among these olûndi might frighten or disturb the casual traveler, as nothing with one was consistent with another.   As members of these three racial archetypes struggled for resources and territory, there came to be certain revelations which became plain. The Medilti, optimally constructed by Qazun, were more adaptable to terrain, diet, and hardships, wherein the undisciplined masses of hideous and unclean amateur-works were erratic in their expertise. A number of them were proficient in water or air, often without the clear intention of the creator for it. A minority of sorrowful races were proficient with nothing at all. Suffering amid the orgy of death was their duty.

    Second Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

In this context of renewed slaugher, the attentions of Ácolitus were drawn upon Voryndal. He was plagued by a great fear in witnessing the death which the Ebal’eshan wrought upon one another for the sake of olûndari primacy. Esha and the physical universe within were meant to assuage the rivalries of the Eshan. It was an escape! Now it was an obsession. Ácolitus saw the specter of another First Feud in their battles. Yet, this newer conflict possessed the means to destroy unlike its predecessor. The Odyrzid and Viscari were the sole olûndari combatants in that ferocious slaughter. They were few in number, some 10,000 warriors between the belligerents. In the centuries that followed the First Feud and Atûn’s revealing of Qazun’s power, tens-of-thousands of olûndi were given life, reason, and bitter self-awareness. These beings were not instinctual beasts willing to die in accordance with natural cycles. They were tribalistic and profoundly violent in their stuggle for survival. This unmitigated chaos required government. It needed fundamental order. Ácolitus tasked himself as the arbiter of that force.   The Creator exerted great strength in Voryndal, empowering Ebal’eshan and olûndi who swore loyalty unto him while punishing dissenters. Without a crown or title, the Creator established himself as the informal sovereign of the region, imposing restrictions upon the scale and profusion of olûndari creations enforced with violence. Those who resisted, such as Hemhelos and Calopor, known for their exploits for freedom during the First Feud, were slaughtered by their siblings. Aebaster and the Alor’eshan could have justifiably stood against Ácolitus in his domination of Voryndal, but this threatened another celestial conflict. Instead, they chose silence and ignorance.

    Third Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

With the peace wrought by Ácolitus’ oversight, the Ebal’eshan were capable of turning inward to express a measure of unity. This manifested in a universal growth of olûndari civilizations on that half of the world, which proliferated into millions of individuals and hundreds of nations.   For the Eshan themselves, a tradition of time keeping, and general merriment was decided. It was known to them as Estemensis and came with each 1,000 olûndari years. The festivities entailed a cessation of hostilities, where ever and however they manifest in exchange for peace. More, the Eshan were expected to invoke their powers for the sake of growth and prosperity, constructing with love rather than destroying with malice. Olûndari cities and Eshanic palaces were adorned with natural ornamentation and luminescent spheres meant to represent the Eshor brought to the world. Above all these beauties was the magnum opus of the Ebal’eshan. They called it the Netaskolurom. It was an immense beacon meant to symbolically portray a ninth Eshor of Kolura, extending the perfection of the first formation to their own world. The Ebal’eshan increased its strength through their own powers, and Netaskolurom blessed Voryndal with calming warmth, life-granting powers, and mental clarity.    These events initiated the Glimmering Ascension. The precise meaning of that name is discussed elsewhere but suffice to say that Voryndal and its Ácolitus venerating hegemony were granted legitimacy through peace.

    Qalyndras Vyndal - The Awakening
    Celestial / Cosmic

The title of Awakening era remains apt among olundi and Eshan. It was the end of the bleating, infant years. Agriculture sprouted throughout the civilized world, promoting the creation of cities, sedentary life, and complex organizations of society. Populations blossomed throughout the world, and with it the competition between warring peoples increased. Hallmarks of wise society made their debut, such as writing, metallurgy, roads and transportation, and temple worship. Kingdoms and their warlords proliferated in every corner of the world.   Among Eshan, strength was returned, and it became possible to interact with an estranged creation. Aebaster spread his faith in all corners, among any Aemar which might listen. For those who refused, Acolitus created the ‘Xhamenullas’ or Resting Sea to house their esseythu. The Ezontach spoke often and kindly with the Daorhu, and guided them in prosperity. The Qazunari increased their vicious attacks against the Aemar of Neyas, nearly destroying them. In Etal, Atûn withheld his race, but communicated unto them the same advancements as their unseen neighbors, forever spying on their behalf.   A rumbling was shaking the world. It was cerebral rather than physical, for a great changing befell an ignorant race. Those who were dormant were now guided in the directions which the Eshan originally desired them, uplifting olundi who were near bestial according their own devices. One might consider the Awakening era the first real Eshanic age.

    Fourth Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

This period is known as the zenith of Voryndal, as there remained an ideal balance between the regulating authority of Ácolitus and the liberating freedom of the Ebal’eshan.   Amid this era of prosperity and good feelings, the Eshan mused the prospect of closer community. Nuphrosa was the foremost champion of this bold school of thought. She espoused the image of a Voryndal united into a single entity without personal separations or selfish machinations.

    Fifth Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

A few vocal voices among the Ebal’eshan were enraged by the role which Idorûn and Kovûnkal played in their misery. It was through that agreement that the Ebal’eshan were bound to remain overpopulated in Voryndal while the Alor’eshan were free to construct a world of their desire. It was also through Idorûn’s pillar and well that the Eshanic power gained through violation of the mandates was stored. They represented the worst of the First Feud’s aftermath. Yet, why now? This question is difficult to answer, and the author has expended long years attempting to map the motivations. In a sense, it was simple. Times were changing, the Glimmering Ascension was past, and the status quo of Voryndal no longer suited its ambitious denizens. In another vein, the prosperity of Voryndal meant that its races continued to multiple and civilizations grew. Over-population became an increasingly noticeable threat. Prosperity, then, signaled the eventual downfall.   With discontentment growing, it was certain that leaders would arise to mold it. A coalition of Ebal’eshan rallied together behind a figure named Zewilir. He, like many of his kin, was a veteran of the fierce fighting which blackened Zaregallis some 4000 years prior. He, like many of his kin, was infuriated by the terms of Kovûnkal to which Ácolitus agreed without second opinion. This made him a suitable candidate for any insurrection, even if his name was scant known or mentioned anything otherwise. Zewilir bid that the Eshan come forth alongside their olûndari creations and reject the mandates. Their target? Misladur. No other single location better represented the dominance of Ácolitus and his laws in Esha. The first interested Eshan approached him around the year -3766.   The year was now -3764. Zewilir cleverly withheld his power until the moment was proper. Rumors did spread of possible rebellion, but neither Ácolitus nor his agents wished to pre-maturely violate the unspoken peace of the Glimmering Ascension. A great tension hung over the continents while each side prepared.   Zewilir struck in the summer of that year. It began with the long-planned attack against Misladur. Thousands of olûndari warriors along with a score of Eshan departed from their dwellings with death in their hearts. This was the most dangerous stage of the rebellion. If they failed now, the wrath of Ácolitus’ undamaged strength would crush them without struggle.

Pevirkas Vyndal – The Classical Era
    Celestial / Cosmic

Olûndari historians, and the author as well, ennoble this era as the ‘classic’ period of the Qadayen world. The cultures which were mere scatterings of tribes millenia before were proud civilizations. Agriculture was widespread and created a population boom which facilitated the rise of cities and sustained development of natural regions.

In Etal, the Etayen were occupied with the expansion and enrichment of their own civilization. Amikiras was a thriving metropol boasting some 100,000 occupants, or near a fourth of the Etayen race. Philosophy, nemeshir, literature, craftsmanship, and even other manner of skill and school of thought was explored and explored once more with technocratic precision. Elsewhere on the continent, magnificent cities were constructed under the guidance of those who dedicated their lives to perfections architectural theories and designing methods.

The core homeland of what would become Étunas was not the only region of interest from the curious Etayen. Further south was a vast region which sprawled on for unknown distances. They titled it Karossusdal, or the Great Southern Land, and mapped up to its hinterlands in previous centuries but never strayed too close.

The event that brought the end of the Classical Era was the union of Etal's many Etayen dynasties into a single, coherent entity. This was the rise of the Domain of Etal, and with its rise came a whole new age of globalization, as borders fluctuated, cultures that have never had close contact met for the first time, and blood was spilt over the fate of Qadal. What was to follow is known to history as the Ascension Era, or the height of Etayen power in Qadal. That is the unbiased title given to the era by Corgastodmar historians, but many among Everos's Aemar population colloquially refer to that era as the Dark Age of Aemar, when Etayen ruled over Aemarda as masters do their slaves.

    Sixth Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

In the aftermath of Zewilir’s Rebellion, Ácolitus and his agents in Koluthollas tightened their grasp on power throughout Voryndal.

In this context, the Ebal’eshan who previously neglected creating or nurturing olûndari races reconsidered their ancient neutrality. The Eshanic siblings Orduza and Syhlshei crafted and expanded the numbers of their olûndari creations, known as the Axok or Axokari. They were sea beasts by nature but possessed great reserves of Eshara as granted in their creation. Orduza devised them to divorce herself and sister from the coming tumults as facilitated by Atûn; a shield rather than a sword.

Come the later years of the cycle, Koluthollas stood to dominate near all sentinent peoples in Voryndal. His agents patrolled the realms of the Eshan as misty specters in the distance, rarely engaging but merely observing to the great discomfort of all. Only in the most distant peripheries were Ebal’eshan capable of reigning over their chosen people with unilateral authority. This was the formal conclusion of the Glimmering Ascension and Voryndal’s glorious years.

Resistance to the dominion of Ácolitus grew among the Eshan who remembered the promise and beauty of the Glimmering Ascension with new bitterness. Koluthollas now reigned over them without compassion nor wisdom, but through the wrathful force of Ácolitus.

    Atûnassus Vyndal - The Ascension
    Celestial / Cosmic

Long had Atûn nourished and protected his people within the defenses of ocean and jungle of Etal. The Etayen developed civilization in their own image, building upon the revelations of their unseen kin elsewhere in Qadal as told to them as new knowledge by Atûn himself. Small familial clans became sovereignties, and these political entities were combined into a proto-typical empire under the direct guidance of the Eshan, the chosen Atûsbal who reigned as greatest leader, and the masters of Amikiras. Agriculture was handed to them without labor nor consideration as a gift from Atûn. This allowed Etayen civilization to flourish across Etal, down its furthest southern reaches to the borderlands of Karossusdal where strange races dwell beyond the mountains. Writing, philosophy, the practice of nemeshir, and other pursuits of brilliance were conducted in blissful seclusion. Those olûndi believed themselves to be alone on their continent, save for the strange beasts otherwise encountered, but certainly nothing beyond the northern seas which Atûn forbid them to travel. These were the preparatory stages of the greatest diffusion of cultural wisdom and demographic contest which Qadal ever experienced. Atûn prepared his people for a greater fate than olûndi or Eshan could foresee.

His people washed across Qadal with wisdom beyond comprehension and revelations sufficient to scatter the mind. They brought the Eshan with them, bearing forth the truest religion with zeal. The rich cultures of the classical era were besieged and broken. Ancient traditions were disregarded and the monuments of false deities shattered to rubble. Along the way, the Etayen colonized the world, making it subject to Atun and Etunas. Provinces and fiefdoms of this realm seized every stride of land in its grasp. None were free, though many resisted.

    Eighth Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

After centuries of prosperity and success, it became clear that the glorious eons of Voryndal were long distant and dead in spirit.

Amid this era of growing disunity, an unforeseen circumstance in Qadal brought the two worlds closer together. The Tharrodon tribe of Everos, once one among dozens of others, was displaced by the surging Etayen monolith of Etunas.

Unlike Qadal itself, wherein the Alor’eshan were aligned in the purpose of excluding races from Voryndal, the lesser world was less prepared to face newcomers. For that reason, the Tharrrodon were able to settle themselves in Solemilis without existential worry.

    Ninth Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

In the year zero, the balance of power among the Eshan was decisively shifted. It was in that time that Atûn, youngest of the Alor’eshan and master of the Etayen, was slain by Corgastor Ghedelon. His temporal realm in Qadal, Étunas, crumbled to ruins and civil strife. Into this void of power resurged Aebaster, who suffered as weak and distant after the creation of morality. He utilized Corgastor as a vessel for his machinations, granting him significant power to destroy the creations of his rival. After the war against Etal concluded, Aebaster relinquished power unto Corgastor and uplifted him to the ranks of the Eshan upon his death in the year 43. The eldest himself receded from prominence in Qadal. In turn, the celestial borders which separated Qadal and Voryndal were no longer guarded with necessary vigor. Other Eshan and Ácolitus were allowed to exploit the opening for their own gain. Corgastor was meant to halt this foreseen surge, but like his predecessor was weak and silent in his infantile years as an Eshan. Qadal was made vulnerable in one fell strike.

Ácolitus was swiftest to perceive the extraordinary opportunities presented by the death of Atûn and weakening of Aebaster in Qadal. It was there where he sought power foremost, as it was the greatest prize in Esha and more beautiful from millenia of growth rather than battles and death.
The Ebal’eshan looked upon this and reveled in the opportunities. Rise of adoptive dynasties among the Eshan, wherein the most powerful would take lesser siblings under their protection and guidance. This system was modelled from the legendary Qazunari, whom the Alor’eshan Qazun ruled during the formative eons of existence in Esha.

The Ámisari was the first Ebal’eshanic dynasty to form after the destruction of the war against Idorûn. It was formed by Ámilus, who was a close companion of Proden, whom Atûn slew during the First Feud. The intention was to secure independence for the Ebal’eshan in a glimmering moment when the attention of Ácolitus was diverted toward Qadal.

As the political landscape of Voryndal matured, further Eshanic dynasties formed around powerful Ebal’eshan. The Ihrenari united under the guidance of Ihrenis, per the name. Her dynasty was a counterbalance to the increasing influence of the Ámisari, though not in direct conflict.

Miretikenas Vyndal - The Weeping Era
    Celestial / Cosmic

Miserable was the jarring transition between Classical era and Ascension era Qadal. Everything which was once considered stable crumbled, leaving the masses subject to capricious Eshan to guide them. Worse, then, was the cataclysmic transition between Ascension era and Weeping era Qadal. The Etayen who other olundi placed faith into for guidance were now themselves without a guide. Atun was dead, and the ancient balances of the world were tilted askew. Chaos reigned in the gaps, equal in ten years what equated to 100 years during the pre-classical era. Eshanic and non-Eshanic faiths clashed, ambitious polities rose from the ashes, and new nemesharic powers confused the swirling melee.

Centuries passed as unnatural monsters rampaged, heroes rose and died, and the old roots torn. Yet, stability did return again. The Realm of Corgastor, so named was the kingdom before it became an empire at the dawn of the Twilight Era, began to formulate and make its mark in these early days. Corgastor, having already united many holds of men and expulsed the Etayen from the continent, began to solidify his power. The town that would later become Ghethemas was the site which he chose to base himself and his supporters, building the towers of Sul, Fror, and Thel to house them. This would later be expanded by Aragos the Builder to become the Trident from which the nerve center of the Corgastodmar Ghetunbalastod is located.

    Tenth Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

The centerpiece of the tenth cycle was the terrible Qazunari war, which raged between that returned Eshanic dynasty and those loyalists who loved peace more than they feared war. It was such that the Qazunari returned to Voryndal after embarrassing defeat against the Axodraharik and Axokari of Orduza and Syhlshei. They wanted to return in vengeance and destroy those Ebal'eshan who uplifted themselves to the domains of the Alor'eshan.

Ihrenis stood against them, rallying concerned Eshan to her cause. The war engulfed the whole lesser half, destroying untold thousands of lives. Yet, the Qazunari were cast down and destroyed by them, and their machinations gone forever.

Lúndras Vyndal - The Twilight Era
    Celestial / Cosmic

Long were the terrors of the Weeping Era. Blackness and evil reigned free without the guidance of the Eshan to preserve Olûllosia. Aebaster was weakened, Corgastor was infantile and unprepared for rule while Atûn’s realm and legacy were destroyed! Yet, disorder enjoys a life no longer than order, for they are both conditions rendered upon the world. When there is order, that order will one time die and be replaced with disorder. In turn, disorder must too die and be replaced with order.

Into the void of Etunas' fall came the beginnings of Qadal's other three great realm- Yor'shagon, Corgastodmar Ghetunbalastod, and Eurobasar Tresivar. Each came from unique origins, but the stimulus was the same: the destruction of the Weeping era left a universal desire for peace. Common people whose grandfather's grandfather knew only suffering embraced the stability of imperial rule where ever it manifested. This placed Qadal upon a promising track of modernization and growth.

The glories of the era were not to remain, however. A ambitious master among the Nathrovayen Etayen, named Bal'gorod, stirred up ancient Eshanic conflict into which Acolitus was deeply involved. This conflict spiraled beyond control, dragging the major nations of Qadal into bloody war in 2304. It was known as Karundar, or the Great Conflict. Its conclusion was the detonation of Nathrovas, being all eastern Everos, and the deaths of millions. Never were such terrors seen since the Weeping era.

    Eleventh Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

A profound and fundamental change befell the inhabitants of Voryndal following the devastation of the Great Conflict in neighboring Qadal. It became obvious that machinations elsewhere in Esha were exceeding the capacity to simply ignore. Neither olûndi nor Eshan knew the intentions of Ácolitus in creating the artifact over which Vulred and Bal’gorod fought, but it was undoubtedly significant.

Consensus and rational government became necessities to avoid the chaos of the Weeping Era and overbearing domination of Ácolitus from epochs past. Simply, maintaining independence required the Ebal’eshan to unite themselves unlike ever seen prior.

The period of time between 2304 and 3451 was a golden age for the Ebal’eshan of Voryndal. Ácolitus was distracted with matters in Qadal, breaking his influence over the lesser half. At the same time, the dynasties the Ebal’eshan founded for themselves created a complex yet effective balance of powers which deterred rivalries and bloodshed.

Órestusil Vyndal - The Imperial Era
    Celestial / Cosmic

The end of the Great Conflict heralded an era that was already in a nascent stage: The Imperial era, where Qadal was divided among a few powerful empires. In Everos, the Ghetunbalastod ast Corgastor burst out in every direction, sweeping over its neighbors. In Othos, the Eurobasar Empire reigned unchallenged by any significant enemies, save for occasional rebellions or civil wars. In distant Nevan, the Axokari and their Axodraharik Servants had established an Axodraharik Theocracy, which they called Yor’Shagan. Under iron rule, the continent and its many islands were shifted into distinct social and religious castes that completely altered society as it had existed. Across the Semyr, Etal remained, an empire unto itself, the last vestiges of Étunas that refused to relent to new realms. Every one of these nations, and others that were not mentioned, all vyed for control and influence across Qadal. The defining characteristic of the era is this struggle for empire with numerous contenders, each of whom used military, diplomatic, and economic means to achieve their ends.

In the end, however, this millennium long struggle proved to be the undoing of these many realms. Shortly after the year 3000, the theocracy of collapsed. A Neyasi republic followed that was entirely divorced from the old Axodraharik vision. In 3401, the Veld Othosar tore apart the beleaguered Eurobasar Empire, breaking it apart into three equal kingdoms. The arrangement was a painful compromise- Eurobia refused to completely surrender while Lothrand and Vestidia failed to decide how to properly divide their conquests. The old days of Eurobasar glory were passed. Finally, in 3451, the last of the great realms of Qadal was broken. The Ghetunbalastod ast Corgastor, which had so long endured threats from within and without, was assaulted by a force it could not resist- Ácolitus himself. It was the victim of machinations going back centuries. Corgastor, along with the majority of the empire’s hierarchy, were all killed by a beast named Zarthum before the thing was slain. Without deity or government, the Corgastodmar Empire rapidly splintered into a number of smaller realms. What wourld follow for those people was entirely uncertain.

    Twelfth Cycle - Voryndal
    Celestial / Cosmic

In the year 3451, the status quo which maintained the division between Qadal and Voryndal was destroyed. Aebaster and Corgastor, who carried the self-imposed role of celestial borderguards, were slain by Ácolitus and Zarthum in cold murder. Along with them passed Duboartu and Nahu, Toriv, Segriscius, and numerous other Eshan.

The Ebal’eshan received the deaths of Aebaster and Corgastor with mixed emotions. At face, the violent death of a fellow Eshanic life was sorrowful in the extreme. These entities shared their existence for eons and knew one another more intimately than olûndi might over numerous lifetimes. However, Aebaster and Corgastor’s death marked the decisive annihilation of the barriers between Qadal and Voryndal. None among the Alor’eshan save Mesian and the Ezontach remained to enforce Kovunkal.

In this context of intense bloodshed and division, another Ebal’eshanic dynasty formed to capitalize on circumstances. It was formed by Yaalon, Eldest of the Ebal’eshan, and known as the Yaalari. Now, traditionally Yaalon had been aloof from the conflicts and worries of Ácolitus and his children. He is known to select few scholars among olûndi as an explorer of Qadal and Voryndal alike. It is practice for him to gather artifacts, momentos, and knowledge fromone half before sailing to the other, then returning again by ship with exotic yields from the other side. However, the incredible circumstances of the Wandering era demanded action.

Nithlyndras Vyndal - The Wandering Era
    Celestial / Cosmic

The transgressions wrought against Ácolitus during the First Feud are old wounds, ancient events relegated to dusty tomes and timeworn histories. The peoples of Qadal in 3451, over ten thousand years afterward, are blissfully ignorant to the details and its importance. They are unaware that the First Feud is what preceeded their existence, or that the tenuous peace that followed was a deal brokered between rebellious children and their furious master. The Eshan themselves never forgot, and neither did Ácolitus. With Kovûnkal forged and bound by the creator’s power, both sides settled into an established order. The Eshan would rule over Qadal and Voryndal while Ácolitus reigned as the master of passing esseythu and the power underlying olûndari life. The Mandates bid the sides remain aloof in the affairs of olûndi- distant watchers to the ebb and flow of fortunes both fair and ill. Untold numbers of days and lives have passed since then, but the memory remained. All the while, the malice of the creator grew. Why should Ácolitus, the great light bringer, be resigned to allow his arrogant children to rule over olûndi? They did not defeat him honestly, nor have they ruled fairly. The world they inherited became the grounds for their personal feuds rather than a canvas to express creativity and genius. In truth, it was all a travesty to the original pretenses under which the world was created. Ácolitus vowed to undo the damage- whatever the cost.

These angry threats were manifested in the creation of Zarthum, a dread Eshanic entity meant to destroy the other Eshan. It fell upon Qadal and Vussalas in a terrible rampage, slaughtering thousands, before it was destroyed by Corgastor, who was himself killed. In the wake, many unsuspecting Eshan were slain. The balance between Qadal and Voryndal was forever shattered, leaving the Greater Half open to invasions. The Ebal'eshan obliged them, pouring into Qadal with their olundic races. Never was a more terrible series of conflicts were witnessed upon Esha beyond the dark First Feud.

Tekiyas Vyndal – The Binding Era
    Celestial / Cosmic

Acolitus watched with great disgust how his children slaughtered one another for dominion of Esha. Thousands of corpses choked the oceans from a series of failed invasions from one half of the world across the unseen barriers. Civilizations in Voryndal were destroyed while the populations were migrating. Qadal was under constant siege. Yet, he was entertained to see with what methods the Ebal’eshan warred against the Alor’eshan of Qadal, depriving them of lands. With all the chief defenders of the Greater Half dead besides Mesian, who might blame them for pressing an advantage? Moreover, the miserable overpopulation of Voryndal demanded the movement of societies to alleviate the pressure. In a certain sense, the wise thinker might have considered the Binding Era inevitable, for the compression of such power in Voryndal was never viable.
