Taoro
The division of the Caranadu into wandering factions cast the future of the Daorhu race into uncertainty. A certain portion of them decided to remain in northern Everos, but others looked elsewhere for salvation and civilization. Among them were a considerable number who aimed toward southern Everos, where the country was fair and customs familiar. Yosuru was foremost of the Caranadu to promote such a migration. Yet, the Aemar of the regions in-between were on-and-off enemies against one another and foreigners with equal vigor. Marching through such country with massive Caranadu and Gwazkerrag in companionship was certain to cause conflict. The Yosuru determined that a olûndari, one of their own, should operate as an interpreter and diplomat so that the exodus south might be successful with a minimum number killed or lost. A female Daorhu named Taoro was chosen for the purpose. Her charisma and mastery of negotiation was known to her own kinsfolk, though little else was known prior to this promotion of position. In this new capacity, Taoro was marched ahead of the primary migration routes to secure everything which might be needed from the minor masters and warriors who were passed.
Foremost, the Daorhu needed to surpass the northernmost regions of Everos from whence they hailed, then march south until suitable new habitation was found. Taoro stood among the commanders of the migration, prepared with money and gifts to please any Aemardic warlords encountered. Three weeks were elapsed in travelled south, until the frigid conditions of the north subsisted to fertile farm country. It was then that Aemardic peoples emerged commonly and were astounded by the procession of Daorhu who passed among them. When all was made peaceful and secure, Taoro retired amongst the ranks of the travelers, content to pass the remainder of the journey in peace.
As the meandering Yosuru caravan departed central Everos into the south, new eyes were cast upon them. Taoro was wholly uncertain if they were generous or malign. Indeed, Etayen settlers had lived in those regions for some 2000 years, and it was their custom to defend the borderlands against the numerous interlopers who ranged south for pillage and slaves. These newcomers, though Daorhu rather than Aemar, were no different. Skirmishing bands immediately closed upon them, casting arrows and Vojûnic power amongst their camps. They would approach no closer under fear of the Caranadu and Gwazkerrag, which pursued and demolished those warriors who were caught in their stone grip. This continued for a period of some two weeks. The Aeducarr mountains sank beyond the horizon, the Sadunast rose ahead of the Daorhu people, and every step in between was marred with corpses. Taoro was approached by the masters of the Yosuru and Daorhu nobility with plees with broker peace for them once again. She accepted, and swiftly departed the camp in the direction of the Etayen warriors.
These Etayen warriors of the Casbarûn dynasty escorted Taoro deep into the heartlands of Jequa, until the spires and sloping walls of Drakar arose with the morning. Inside reigned Jequasghal Ketritaur Casbarûn, who was one among the many successor princes of Etunas after that realm’s ancient demise. It was, however, in their old age remembered within the lifetime of his own great grandfather.
Following the negotiations with Ketritaur, the Yosuru continued until they reached the Sadunast mountains. The leaders of the venture gathered together with their Caranadu master and discussed the merits of habitations, which were judged many given the prosperity and position of the land. No greater distance might ever be achieved against the Karthuuzar than this place.
