Qalesham

When Acolitus first created the Eshor as a means to light and decorate all creation, all were dormant. These illuminations said nothing, did nothing, nor thought about anything. This was their condition for hundreds or thousands of years by olundi counting- yet a time impossible then for Acolitus the creator to have appreciated. Qalesham was one among these uncounted Eshor.
The birth of the Eshan changed everything. Dozens of Eshor around Qalesham burst into life as Alor’eshan and later their younger generation, the Ebal’eshan. Not all the Eshor hatched. Qalesham did not hatch with the first or second generation yet remained among the “Silent Eshor” hanging in ominous ranks around Acolitus. Her own fate was to be different than other Silent Eshor. Acolitus chose Qalesham as the Eshor around which Esha itself would be formed. She was entombed with this mantle of rock and water, and imbued with such extraordinary power as to bind it together. In creating the world with Eshanic power, Acolitus hatched Qaleshem to life.
For much of the First Feud era and Long Peace, Qalesham inhabited a parallel exist to the other Eshan. She didn’t seek followers nor power- indeed, she understood little about such worldly concerns. Her realm became the realm of dreams in Kasteries, interacting with Eshan and olundi alike in guise (purposely or unknowingly) and gaining her wisdom and knowledge from those sources. She was mysterious in those domains- a fleeting figure to speak with once or twice in a lifetime of dreams. For those whom she grew to favor, the more often she appeared.
In the Second Feud era, Qalesham became the center of attention for two important movements. One was driven by olundi disillusioned by the strife of the Eshan. This “Cult of Qalesham” commended their Esseythu to her as a means to deny it to the other Eshan or Acolitus. The second was a similar effort, but driven by Mesian, among the last of the living Alor’eshan (beyond the Ezontach). She sought to direct power toward Qalesham, but also to communicate with her and empower her so that power might be used toward better ends.
