Fungril

Fungril resemble humanoid mushrooms. They can be either more humanoid or more fungal in appearance, and they come in an assortment of colors, from earth tones to bright reds, yellows, purples, and blues. Fungril display an incredible variety of bodies, faces, and limbs, as there’s no single common shape among them. Even their heights range from a tiny 2 feet tall to a staggering 7 feet tall.   This species of mortal has a unique way to communicate with each other. They use a mycelial array to chemically exchange information with other fungril over long distances. Now, how it has been explained to me as I'm not a fungril myself, is that instead of communicating to individuals through this fungril network, you are communicating with the knowledge all fungrils have. It is similar to the hive mind theory, I suppose. However, those with a powerful connection to the array are able to find individuals through the mess of all the connected synapses and emotions. My definition of the network, from my understanding,   Fungrils are one of the only mortal species we know the origin of. In the Ancient Age, fungrils grew from pockets of plant life that were affected by the powers of [[The Ourvorax]]. This phenomena happened all over Altus resulting in all kinds of fungrils. The one thing that connects this diverse species is the chemical that connects them. Research has gone into this said chemical and it has been found out that the chemical, which we call neuroquintessa, is magical in nature. More research needs to be done to find its direct connection to The Ourvorax but it seems that there is a part of the fungril brain that produces this neuroquintessa naturally.   In addition to allowing them to communicate to a central synapses, fungrils can also extract memories related to emotions from recently deceased corpses using neuroquintessa. So again in this instance, similar to the network, fungrils are able to feel the information instead of knowing it. They provide a unique perspective to the world using neuroquintessa.
