General Information

A pantheon of deities believed to have originated from the Astral Plane, which those in Crinamere believe to be the location of the afterlife. These deities are thought to have gifted members of mankind the ability to utilize magic, which is the source for their alternative name "Gods of Magic". The pantheon is composed of several gods, and the number differs based on the location of the temple or church, especially between continents. In the continent of Adelan there are six major deities in the pantheon. There are no disputes between temples in Adelan over these six, however, there are many differences when one looks at the minor deities. In fact, it is more than likely that if one were to compare the minor deities of two temples in separate regions of Adelan, you would find that there nearly half will have different names.

Other than particular, minute differences in belief, the existence of the Astral Gods is quite widespread in Crinamere. In Adelan, the belief is spread out throughout the continent very unevenly, with large amounts of belief clustered in regions where those in command are mages. This is particularly noticeable when one examines the beliefs of smaller civilizations, such as fishing villages, where the worship of the Astral Gods is all but absent.
