History

The Emperor was once a man, his name long lost to the swirling mists of time, a leader of one of the many warring tribes that roamed the newly formed sky-sea of Yrdde.   Driven by an ambition as boundless as the sky above, he sought not only to conquer his rivals, but to reshape the world itself. Through sheer force of will, unrelenting discipline, and the shrewd manipulation of those around him, he forged a vast empire, unifying the warring tribes and establishing a new order ruled by his iron fist.   But his ambition didn't end with mortal conquests. Driven by a thirst for true power, a desire to control not just the physical realm but the very forces of existence, he embarked upon a perilous journey – a quest to ascend to godhood.   The legends surrounding his ascension are shrouded in mystery. Some say he delved into the darkest ruins of the Old-World, striking bargains with ancient beings and uncovering forbidden knowledge. Others whisper he challenged the very laws of reality, forcing the nascent magical energies of Yrdde to bend to his will.   Regardless of the specific path, his ambition prevailed. He ascended to godhood, his mortality cast aside, his essence merging with the very fabric of the sky-sea world. He became the Emperor Eternal, the supreme ruler of the Pantheon, a testament to the belief that those with the strongest will can reshape their destinies, transcending their limitations and achieving a power akin to the very gods they once worshipped.  

"The Emperor Eternal... darling, talk about a god with an ego the size of a capital ship! A man who clawed his way to the top, broke the rules of reality, and declared himself divine ruler. It's a tale as old as time - ambition dressed up in glittering robes and a crown that probably weighs more than a baby sky-whale. We Imperials eat it up, of course. The idea that anyone, even a grubby little peasant, could reach godhood if they just try hard enough, sacrifice enough, step on enough necks to get to the top. It's a convenient little myth that justifies rigid hierarchies and that whole “strength above all else" nonsense. Me? I find the whole thing a bit too on the nose. A god of ambition who demands obedience? Sounds a tad ironic, doesn't it? But, gotta give the old Emperor credit, he knew how to play the game. Build a flashy religion, throw in a few inspiring festivals, convince your subjects that your power comes from some celestial source and voila! I'm willing to bet this story doesn’t have a happy ending. After all, darling, even gods can fall. And those falls? Those are always the juiciest tales to tell." - E Dawnstrider
