A Pact of Blood and Flame
Any follower of The Pyre can try at being a member of the order although to be risen to the status of knight, one must undergo an irrevocable trial. This trial is not of the formal sort however, it is a test of the person's character and can happen spontaneously in times of peril, or can be forced often with far less success. The trial is considered completed if the person can survive being with close proximity to a massive flame or pyre. Some attempt to force the trial and are left nothing but a burnt husk. Many are discovered through the Order itself on any one of their many crusades across the countrysides. Usually only children who possess the fire immunity are rescued and indoctrinated as new followers of The Pyre.Feeding the Flames
Knights can rise up the order through prowess in battle. It is thought that the strongest willed followers create others through proximity. The more recruits a knight brings back after a crusade, the more prestige they earn amongst their rank. By bringing fresh blood into the light of The Pyre, the order ensures its legacy lives on and the brightest can stand above the rest.Culture
The Knights of this order are devoted to The Pyre and act as religious zealots. They are concerned with the enforcement of the teachings of the church and usually only the most devout followers make it to the status of Knight.

Phoenix Knights were given their name because it is thought that the Knights were given status by surviving being in a massive fire, natural or otherwise. It is their supposed immunity to flames that makes them so intimidating in addition with their flaming brands they ride into battle with. A charge of Scorchers is enough to send terror into the hearts of any foe across the world. Their reputation proceeds them as devout and absolute when their target is chosen by their fiery god.Granted Divine Powers
Knights of the order are known to have fire immunity. Occasionally, the most powerful and devout of them cause nearby flames to burn blood red.
