A long, torturous month goes by as Oliver is tortured viciously by Ignatius. He was experimented on, leaving dark, thick black lines crawling up his arms. He hated what happened to him.

Inigo Williams watched Oliver be tortured and grew to care about him, helping him escape. Oliver didn't trust Inigo, but knew he needed out. He took the chance, not seeing any other path. By the time, he got out, he learned he had been there for nearly a month.

Oliver quickly headed for the Storm Pack, hoping for everyone to understand his plan. By the time he returned, he realized that the pack had changed. He was arrested on the spot for being a rogue. When interrogated, he tried explaining his reason, but no one wanted to hear him. Adged and Ginger saw to it that Oliver was tortured with beatings until Rokomo returned from his meeting with the other packs.

Rokomo chastised Adged and Ginger for what they did to Oliver. He helped Oliver out and offered to listen to his side of the story, but quickly saw that Oliver decided the pack wasn't for him. Rokomo went to retrieve Deidrick and have them reunite, but Oliver was stunned when Deidrick chose to reject him for betraying the pack for a rogue. Oliver was devastated and retreated further within.

A few days after the rejection, Oliver left the pack., having realized that his family, friends, and mate all betrayed him and didn't care to understand his side of the story. From then on, Oliver decided that people weren't good to be around.
